The mayor of one of America’s largest cities says there would be a lot more room for illegal aliens if every legal citizen would take one home.
Cities and communities around the country are feeling the squeeze, as millions of illegal immigrants continue to flood America’s uncontrolled southern border, thanks to President Joe Biden’s open-border policies and offers of amnesty.
New York City Mayor Eric Adams has complained his administration can’t handle the few thousand illegal immigrants that Republican governors have bussed to the Big Apple. Homeless shelters are running out of room, and Adams has said anywhere from 40 percent to half of “suitable” hotels have no vacancy for American travelers because they’re providing housing for illegals.
But on Monday, he proposed his version of a solution: Have New York citizens put an illegal alien or two in the guest room.
Adams said “my vision” is “to take the next step” beyond giving lawless border-crossers free room and board at hotels. He has already agreed to have churches and synagogues houseup to 19 illegal immigrants each, at a reported cost of about $125 a night.
Next, Adams plans to “move to private residents. There are residents who are suffering right now because of economic challenges,” Adams said, without mentioning who created those economic challenges for the five boroughs.
“They have spare rooms,” Adams continued. “We can take that $4.2 billion, $4.3 maybe now that we potentially have to spend and we can put it back in the pockets of everyday New Yorkers, everyday houses of worship, instead of putting in the pockets of corporations.”
The corporations are already getting a big enough economic boon by importing illegal immigrant workers to replace Americans.
“We should take this crisis and go to opportunity,” Adams said.

The newest amnesty dodge brought a heap of dishonor on Hizzoner.
“This is absolutely insane,” columnist David Marcus, a New York transplant to West Virginia, told Eric Bolling of Newsmax TV on Wednesday night. “This is like a foreign student exchange program, except you might end up with someone from MS-13.”
“Hopefully, they don’t have any little kids in those homes,” radio talk show host David Harris Jr. told Bolling.
New Yorkers tempted to sublet their overcrowded, rent-controlled apartments to Central American caravans might want to see how it’s already causing havoc for the city’s hotels.
Employees in New York’s hospitality industry report a full-out “free-for-all” of crime and drug use by illegals staying inside NYC’s luxury hotels on the taxpayer’s dime. Luxury hotels get $500 a night, three times as much as the $125 offered to churches.
Adams is willing to have New York overrun with crime, because it helps his political party, some observers say.
“This is nothing less than the systemic placement of Democratic voters in the United States,” said Harris—and, he said, all Americans are going to foot the bill.
“Joe Biden’s gonna write a grant for any pretty state that takes those ‘refugees,’ those illegal immigrants,” he said. “Taxpayers around the country are going to be paying for this.”
And Adams might cycle some of that money into the hands of New Yorkers willing to take in a roommate from Guatemala. But asking his citizens to rehome illegal aliens in their apartments is just Adams’ latest failed response.
Adams bragged about the city’s status as a “sanctuary city” and backed a plan to have non-citizens vote in citywide election.
Then Republicans took him at his word.
Governors from Florida, Texas, and Arizona sent the illegal immigrants to blue states and cities—including 70,000 illegals to New York City since last April…a drop in the bucket compared to the 5.5 million illegal border crossings during Biden’s two years in office.
But it was more than Democrats like Adams could handle competently.
First, Adams tried to transfer his illegal entourage to Canada, quietly putting dropping them off on Roxham Road in Champlain, where the illegals scurried into the Great White North.
That didn’t work—the Canadian government asked Joe Biden to put a stop to it. So, Adams’ fellow Democrats are suing to keep the illegals in red states…and trying to punish the governors who sent them out. Liberals were infuriated when Florida Governor Ron DeSantis sent 49 illegal immigrants to ritzy Martha’s Vineyard last September.
Now, DeSantis faces multiple criminal charges of Unlawful Restraint—misdemeanor and felony—thanks to charges filed this week by Sheriff Javier Salazar of Bexar County, Texas—a Democrat.
Adams thinks it’s wrong for other parts of the country to send him their state’s illegal immigrants… but Adams is suing counties that refuse to take his shipments of illegal immigrants.
The city announced on Wednesday that it smacked 30 counties with a lawsuit asking a judge to declare all their executive orders barring Adams’ busloads of illegal aliens “null and void.”
An Obama-appointed judge already sided with Adams against New York’s Rockland and Orange counties, claiming not resettling illegals constituted illegal “discrimination.”
And Adams wants Biden to take his policy nationwide. He asked the Biden administration to coordinate shipments of illegal immigrants to every city, hamlet, and county in the United States.
“We have 108,000 cities, villages, towns. If everyone takes a small portion of that — and if it’s coordinated at the border, to ensure” that foreigners are “actually moved throughout the entire country, it is not a burden on one city.”
How much longer before some politician asks every American to resettle a few illegal immigrant in his home?
