Rumors have begun flying out of Washington, D.C. that Democratic insiders are scrambling for a plan to replace the ailing Hillary Clinton at the top of their ticket after her repeated health scares.
And once again, it leaves voters of Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders on the outside looking in.
This is no conspiracy theory, either. It’s been confirmed by top party insiders – we’re prepared to replace Clinton.
“It’s something you would be a fool not to prepare for,” former Democratic National Committee chairman Dan Fowler confessed to Politico on Monday.
He’s hardly alone.
Longtime D.C. insider Cokie Roberts said on NPR that “skittish Democrats” are “very nervously beginning to whisper about her stepping aside and finding another candidate.”
Yes, there’s a move afoot to replace the Democratic nominee… and the establishment moves could lead to a party civil war.
Because despite the fact that Sanders nearly beat Clinton in the primaries… despite the fact that he won more than 12 million votes… and despite the fact that the party has struggled to hold onto his loyal supporters… the early word is Sanders is not even being considered as the new nominee.
Instead, party bosses are turning to the gaffe-prone vice president, Joe Biden.
“If Hillary Clinton withdraws, every indication now committee will vote to replace with Biden,” David Shuster, who has worked for both MSNBC and Al Jazeera, reported on Twitter, adding that the Sanders team is now “scrambling.”
Of course they are.
Sanders has certainly earned the right to be the party’s next-in-line by any definition of fairness and democracy. The news is bound to infuriate and further alienate supporters of the Vermont senator, who previously staged mass walkouts and protests at the Democratic National Convention after being cheated by party insiders.
But as the leaked emails earlier this summer revealed, the Democratic Party is not exactly a fan of democracy – because they’ve worked to undermine Sanders every step of the way.
Now, if the reports are accurate, they could be about to screw Sanders and his 12 million voters all over again – because the party rules don’t require giving the nomination to the next-in-line.
Instead, party bosses will meet in secret to hammer out a backroom deal.
And despite the strong call for change this election among Democrats and Republicans alike, those bosses are plotting to hand the nomination to Biden, a Washington insider since 1973 who clearly wants his shot at the one prize that has eluded him.
Biden even admitted recently that he “regrets every day” his decision not to run in the primaries.
Every time Clinton had a new set of legal troubles… every time she stumbled, sometimes literally… he’s no doubt wished he could turn back the clock and run for the nomination.
Now, Biden can simply seize that nomination without getting a single vote.
On Monday night, Biden seemed to be teasing his possible new role as party nominee. He announced at a fundraiser in South Carolina that he could beat Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump.
He meant at jogging, as he challenged the Republican nominee to a physical contest.
But odds are, he may have had something else in mind, too.

Mos states have already closed. Early voting is already getting started. This could prove to be interesting. Bernie Sanders would have been the logical choice seeing as how he is already signed up. And, to think that even if Hillary got dumped by the DNC, Bernie still would not be the DNC’s choice. What a real slap in the face. Bernie should have remained Independent and either not endorsed any candidate, or ran on the Green Party with Jill Stein. Many of his supporters have expressed an interest in Jill Stein anyway. By not endorsing Hillary, Bernie would have sent a much stronger message than by endorsing her and becoming a non-relevant nobody.

As far as the democratic party leadership is concerned Sanders is old news. It is not likely they will readily replace Hillary. But if circumstances force them to do so they will most likely turn to Joe “foot in the mouth” Biden. The best thing that can be said for him is that he is not Hillary or Obama. He would be a weak President and not likely to have much influence with congress. That might even prove to be something of an advantage. It is possible that Congress would than decide to reassert a lot of its Constitutional authority that it has abdicated to Obama. But if Biden were to win at least the democrats could look on it has a victory of sorts.

The Trump campaign needs to develop a strategy for how it would handle a change in the Democrat ticket. If scandal plagued Hillary leaves the race, Trump might find himself running against someone without any baggage. That could prove troublesome for Donald Trump. In a matchup against Clinton he is less ethically challenge, but that could change if Kaine moved up or someone else was moved into Hillary’s spot.
This would be a good place to remind people that I have stated in previous posts that Obama may be working to undermine the Clinton campaign even while acting like he is supporting her. The continuing stream of leaked emails aren’t some fluke. The Lynch/Clinton airport meeting wasn’t a coincidence. In time we may learn that President Obama has been secretly plotting to keep Hillary from becoming president.
Stay tuned everyone. This election is far from over. We may have some October surprises awaiting us that will change the campaign landscape in ways we can’t currently imagine.
By the way, Bernie wouldn’t be any better of a president than Hillary would be. It’s also likely many of his supporters would not actually vote to make him president in November. Once people learn about the failure rate of socialism and what it will cost them they would probably not be eager to see Bernie elected president.

I Really think Hillary needs to steep down . If she really has Parkinsons Desease she really has too . Due to the fact that some states have already submitted their absentee ballots it would be hard to redo and I think the media is only trying to cause more drama with saying there are email leaks saying the party is seeking a new candidate. If she pulls out or told to pull out (which no politician should have supported her in the first place) she will start squealing like a stuck pig because she wants that office more then anything. She will stay in the race.

How about she or the Democratic party asking for a “video” conference debate. That way she can set at home and have others (via ear piece) actually answer the “soft?” questions while Trump is on stage to answer the hard ones. If Trump says foul then he is picking on a poor woman’s health and does not want to give her time to recover. I don’t know how Biden could run for POTUS when he has received NO VOTES in the primaries because he didn’t run. The DNC just can’t pick somebody. They have to be voted for. That makes no sense that he can run in the general without running in the primary. That’s just common sense. If anyone could do it it would be Bernie cause he did run, and he should have won over the HAG. Kaine can’t run either. You just can’t give him credit for votes from someone else that again, didn’t run in the primaries. He got NO VOTES for anything. It seems Biden would have to go through due electrical process and get delegates, and all that sorta stuff. Replace Clinton by due process. Have her step down. This is the type of thing Trump needs to be talking about at his rallies. Sander’s voters will stay home or vote for Trump out of protest. Either way they get to voice their displeasure with the democrat party that knew from day one that Bernie never had a shot. They thought he would be a joke in the primaries and someone Clinton could walk all over. They never expected him to resonate with people. Now they want his voters. I wouldn’t give them the correct time of day let alone my very important vote.
