“On the Holmes Front,” with Frank Holmes
Is America headed for a second civil war? Not the soft kind, where the two sides agree they can no longer live together and amicably agree to part ways… but a violent revolution pitting one side against another that leaves people dead in the streets?
Instead of the Blue vs. the Gray, are we headed for the Blue vs. the Red?
Reasonable people hope not… but they’re still worried. One of the most insightful members of the U.S. House of Representatives has issued a chilling warning – and he’s far from alone.
Iowa Rep. Steve King, Republican, saw the increasingly violent protests by the “alt-left” against border enforcement agents over family separations and tweeted:
America is heading in the direction of another Harpers Ferry. After that comes Ft. Sumter. https://t.co/5PmwlwcdSQ

Ft. Sumter is where the cold feeling of separation between North and South turned hot, violent, and deadly – and the bloodiest chapter in U.S. history began.
153 years later, are we going there again?
It would be one thing if it were only one congressman who thinks so, even one as on-the-money as Steve King, but the sentiment is spreading throughout society – from political thinkers to housewives, from people on both sides of the aisle.
Everyone worries we’re sitting on a tiny fire, and the media just keep pouring on gasoline.
A new Rasmussen poll shows almost one-third of all American voters say “it’s likely that the United States will experience a second civil war sometime in the next five years” – and they know exactly who will start it.
59% of voters say they’re worried that mobs “opposed to President Trump’s policies will resort to violence” – like they did at Trump rallies before the election.
And like they’ve threatened to do in ever-growing numbers since the election – threatening to behead him, stab him, shoot him, and blow up the White House.
Women, young people, and blacks are more likely to say a revolution is coming, according to the poll, which came out Wednesday.
“I think we’re at the beginning of a soft civil war,” political scientist Thomas Schaller told Bloomberg News. “I don’t know if the country gets out of it whole.”
Some experts say these people are wrong, that we’re not about to have a civil war. “Actually this sort of thing seems to be well underway,” wrote Glenn Harlan Reynolds, professor of law at the University of Tennessee, in USA Today on Tuesday.
“Hollywood has basically turned its products, and its award shows, into showcases for ‘the resistance,’” he warned.
White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders had been refused service by a Virginia restaurant. “And, in a somewhat less ‘soft’ manifestation, Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen was bullied out of a restaurant by an angry anti-Trump mob, and a similar mob also showed up outside of her home,” he wrote.
When Congresswoman Maxine Waters encouraged this kind of behavior anywhere Trump officials are seen, critics charged her with inciting a riot.
The Left seems to be doing everything it can to divide our country into warring camps based on race, sex, who you sleep with, or which gender you identify with – and then demand each side hate the another.
Their political bulletins and “mainstream” journalists stoke outrage all day long, with half-truths and total distortions about the president and his supporters – and now they want to go beyond talk.
Occupy Wall Street is even advocating people murder federal agents.
When the Left eggs on foreigners to kill their own government officials, how far away can real civil war be?
The hatred and division is so undeniable that even the fakest man in the Fake News industry, CNN’s Jim Acosta, had to report on the possibility of a second civil war.
This past week, he posted a video of a woman at a Trump rally in South Carolina telling him and the rest of the media: “You people are starting a civil war. You’re going to have people shooting people. You need to tone it down a little bit – the language, everything, it’s got to stop.”
Then she practically begged journalists, “Be decent. Please, be decent.”
This lady from last night’s Trump rally in SC told me to tone it down. She talked about a possible civil war and people shooting each other. Just one example of some of the anger directed at the press at Trump rallies. pic.twitter.com/eK2iINUcrj
— Jim Acosta (@Acosta) June 27, 2018
Acosta chose to spin this as an “example of some of the anger directed at the press at Trump rallies.” But it was a cry from the state where the Civil War began not to take the country down that road again.
One thing is for sure: With their false reporting, their tear-wrenching lies about the treatment Border Patrol agents give illegal aliens in their custody, their open contempt for the democratically elected president AND his followers, their free use of the term “Nazi,” the blood that is finally shed will be on the Fake News Media’s hands.
Jim, Wolf, Anderson – and you late-night people like Jimmy Kimmel and the rest – please stop before your last broadcast pushes the country across a point of no return.
