Stop me if this sounds familiar: One of the most powerful leaders of the Democratic Party has a pampered child “earning” a six-figure income without working.
But this case uniquely proves how sordid financial corruption, family grifting, and taxpayer-funded entitlement go all the way to the core of the Democratic Party…because the offending party’s father is a former deputy chairman of the Democratic National Committee.
The figure in question is Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison’s son, Jeremiah.
Somehow, this “artist” and painter who likes comic book illustrations took his first step up the political ladder when he won a seat on the Minneapolis City Council in 2017—the same year his dad became deputy chairman of the national Democratic Party.
But now, the younger Ellison thinks he’s found a better job. Jeremiah Ellison just accepted the prestigious Loeb fellowship from Harvard University’s Graduate School of Design, which gives recipients a stipend of $57,000—but there’s a catch. He has to show up for the fellowship in-person in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
Harvard is 1,386 miles away from Ward 5, and the Harvard dons and trust fund babies inhabit a totally different universe from Ellison’s constituents, who pay him almost $110,000 a year to represent them.
Ellison has already missed six committee or full council meetings in one month alone…but that doesn’t mean he plans to stop accepting his salary.
Ellison has announced he will cash both paychecks, even if he can’t be at council meetings.
He’s not running for reelection this fall, so he plans through the remainder of his term until he leaves office next January 5—and cash both paychecks, even if he can’t be at council meetings.
“I will continue my workload as normal, virtually,” Jeremiah Ellison told a local TV station KSTP, saying he’ll return twice a month for meetings and drop in on meetings through video.
“That’s not acceptable,” said council member LaTrisha Vetaw. She called Ellison’s absence “absurd” and said his actions “disenfranchise the North Side.”
“It’s just not fair,” Vetaw told the Star-Tribune.
It’s also illegal. City council rules stipulate, “Council Members must be within the chamber to cast a vote, and no Council Member not within the chamber at the time a vote is conducted shall be recorded as casting a vote on that matter.”
Other council member are miffed that the AG’s son gets perks they are denied.
“I’d like to know if there are other city employees who are given that privilege,” another council member, Linea Palmisano, told KSTP. “I don’t think they would ever be allowed that kind of a paid leave of absence.”

The donkey in the room is the fact that his famous father, Keith Ellison, has been one of the leading “progressive” Democrats in state politics for almost two decades.
Keith Ellison became the first Muslim in Congress and was sworn into office on a Quran instead of a Bible in 2007. In office, he co-chaired the influential Congressional Progressive Caucus.
He once compared President George W. Bush to Adolf Hitler and strongly implied Bush engineered 9/11.
As The Horn News reported, Ellison was one of seven Democrats who met with Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan after they were elected to Congress…and according to Farrakhan, Ellison used to be a member of the Nation of Islam—a racist and anti-Semitic hate group.
Ellison is “clearly an anti-Semite,” said Haim Saban, a liberal Democratic megadonor, in 2016. The Anti-Defamation League—which usually parrots the Democratic party line—called Ellison’s record “deeply disturbing and disqualifying.”
Nonetheless, Ellison tried to take over the Democratic Party by running for DNC chairman in 2016.
He left Congress and became state AG back in Minnesota. In that role, Keith Ellison supported a charity called Feeding Our Future, run by 47 Somalis accused of defrauding taxpayers of $250 million in COVID-19 and child nutrition funding.
In a secretly recorded phone call, AG Ellison promised to help these members of “new American communities” avoid legal jeopardy. He could ask why people are supposedly targeting minorities, and “just getting the inquiry the AG is sometimes enough to make people knock it off.”
A few days after this 2021 meeting, Ellison received a $10,000 donation from the people he met, according to the Washington Free Beacon.
He also began plotting his son’s political future…which takes money.

Jeremiah Ellison is a grift off the old block. In 2020, Jeremiah announced, “I hereby, officially, declare my support for ANTIFA.”
During the George Floyd riots, Ellison promised to “dismantle the Minneapolis Police Department” so permanently that, “when we’re done, we’re not simply gonna glue it back together.”
Now, he’s looking to move on up the ladder of success and still make six figures without working—just like Hunter Biden, and Chelsea Clinton, and Maxine Waters’ daughter, and Bernie Sanders’ wife, and Ilhan Omar’s lobbyist husband, and Heaven knows how many other grifters, shysters, and con artists cashing in on their proximity to power.
Readers of The Horn News probably don’t agree with Democratic council member LaTrisha Vetaw on much, but we can see eye-to-eye on this: The whole rotten system is “just not fair” and should be shut down once and for all.
