War on Cops! Two officers ambushed by crazed gunman

The war on cops is spiraling out of control after two Georgia officers were ambushed while serving a search warrant in Crawford County.

This is the second attack on Georgia police in the past week.

This past Thursday, The Horn News reported a manhunt was underway for a suspect who killed two officers. Americus Officer Nicholas Smarr died Wednesday and fellow officer and lifelong friend Jody Smith died the following day. The suspect was later fatally shot by police, an outcome that apparently failed to instill fear in other conspiring cop killers.

Georgia Bureau of Investigation Special Agent in Charge J.T. Ricketson said a multi-jurisdiction drug task force went around 2:30 a.m. Monday to a home on state Highway 42. Byron officers knocked on the door and announced themselves, but no one answered.

“They knocked on the back door and announced their presence and that they were performing a search warrant,” Ricketson said.

“No one responded so they gained entry by going through the back door. As the officers were entering inside the residence an occupant inside the residence fired at least one round. It may be more,” he said.

The officers returned fire, and the suspect was killed, he said.

“These officers returned fire after they were fired upon. I don’t know how many rounds they fired. We will be determining that,” he said. “One subject was struck and he is actually deceased.”

The two officers, who both work at the Byron police department, were taken to a hospital in Macon, he said. One was treated and released and the other was in surgery Monday morning, Ricketson said. He described the injuries as “serious but not life threatening.”

Ricketson described the suspect who was killed as a 35-year-old white man, who is believed to have been the subject of the search warrant. The man’s girlfriend and an infant about one month old were also in the house at the time of the shooting but neither was harmed, he said.

GBI agents have locked down the scene and were securing search warrants. The names of the suspect and the officers were not released.

Ricketson said the officers are part of the Peach County Drug Task Force that includes officers from Peach and Crawford Counties, Byron and Fort Valley.

The shooting comes at what has been a dangerous time for law enforcement officers in Georgia. At least seven Georgia law enforcement officers have been killed by gunmen in the line of duty this year.

Killing police officers very unfortunately is our country’s newest & most popular sport this year of 2016. Last year the most popular sport in the United States was breaking out of prison. The killing of police officers who are not of the bad apple bunch is getting way out of hand. The gun control liberals who want to take away the right to bear arms & the right of self defense are a bunch of big mouthed windbags are the very ones that rant, rave & scream when they become crime victims. It’s long overdue to clean out the bad apples in law enforcement and also go after the real criminals that just love to kill
law enforcement officers for fun & enjoyment. Those 2 police officers that were murdered in Georgia and other places in our country didn’t deserve to die, they have families that won’t see their sons, daughters, fathers, mothers, brothers, sisters just because someone decides to kill someone who is in law enforcement and someone who happens to be nut cases like John Hinkley, the nut case that shot former Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords and killed 9
outside a Safeway supermarket just outside of Loser City Tuscon in its suburb of Casas Adobes. The nut case that killed 9 people will only do life in prison at the very most should be executed for the 9 murders he did, and also the one who murdered those in a church in South Carolina should also be executed.

Shoot the rotten jerks anywhere but not the heart or head with the absolutely cheapest bullets and leave them there to bleed slowly with no help whatsoever, just kick and lock them into some basement filled with ice so their soon to be corpses don’t give out their filthy odors!

No need for electric chair or a lengthy trial…… shoot to kill on the spot the perp and save a lot of tax payers money…. apparently they the perps are not afraid to die, so do them the favor and take them out..
too many bleeding hearts that criticize the police for doing or trying to do their jobs with their hands tied.

That there is the whole problem these thugs know that when they commit these crimes they know they will get a free meal and a place to sleep for life to deal drugs through our prison systems. Bring back the death penalty and show that shit on TV and after a few of them see what will happen the crime rate will drop again.

Correction, please. John Hinckley, Jr. was the trigger-puller in the attempt on Pres. Reagan, March 1981. He was released from the psychiatric hospital in D.C. in September, 2016. Jarad Loughner was the trigger-puller in the massacre in the shopping center parking lot north of Tucson, 8 Jan 2011. He was sentenced to seven life sentences, without parole.

Obama has promoted disorder from the day he took office. He has overseen the decay and partial destruction of the rule of law, as some of the first steps to installing Islam in the USA.
A traitor such as he has never disgraced the office of president. How could Democrats want this???

Absolutely so right on! Time over due for our real leader Donald Trump. Trump has begun the multitasking of eight vacant years of nobody home. Convince us that Obozo got elected without rigged elections, same poor old dead person voted eight times. Innocent Americans pay for the supreme inadequacy of a failed president wannabe.

Anyone killing a Law Enforcement Officer should be given the death penalty and no time in prison. If the penalties were hard enough, perhaps the killings would stop. I question how many are still on the loose, waiting a chance to kill again???
I was an Aux. Police Officer for almost 10 yrs. I loved every minute of it. For everything bad that happens, there’s something good you can do for someone. I was hoping one of my g/sons would be interested, but in today’s world, I wouldn’t want them in uniform.
Why have we allowed our world to change as it has??? As much as I’d like to, I can’t blame it all on the Gay. Lying Muslim in our White House. WHAT CAN WE DO TO TAKE OUR WORLD BACK?

WE, ALL OF US AMERICANS, ARE TO BLAME FOR NOT PUTTING MUCH MORE PRESSURE ON OBOZO TO FIGHT BOTH THE ARAB TERRORISTS AND THE HOME GROWN COP MURDERERS!!! For instance, did you see what the demotards did to our cities destroying everything in their way? OK, WE SHOULD’VE BEEN DOING THAT TO GET THE MISERABLE GOV. TO FIGHT THOSE ENEMIES. NONE OF US DID ANYTHING. ACTUALLY IT SHOULD’VE BEEN THE CONGRESS TO MAKE THE OBOZO DO THE PROPER THING. BUT OF COURSE THE CONGRESS IS SO USELESS. I HOPE IN TIME THEY CAN ALL BE REPLACED!

Let us start where the problem really is. The Courts and the self serving lawyers that feed it. That is correct. The lawyers create the laws, they enforce the laws and they provide oversight on the execution of the laws. Something wrong with this pricture? YES THERE IS!
Laws are currently made to ensure the lawyers get money. Simple as that. Ever wonder why drunks get cautht, their license is reolked and yet they drive again and eventually kill someone? Each time they are hauled in a lawyer gets at least $10,000. Simple as that. The lawyers and judges do not care one whit about anyone but themselves and their bank accounts. PERIOD. NO? Then how come they are so lenient with the criminals? Dead criminals can’t pay anymore.
Just sit down and talk with any released con – they play the game. Yep, they will tell you that they already know what the consequence will be for their crime if they get caught. Give the lawyer the money, do your time nicely and get out early to do it all over again.
Time to reinstate the death penalty by public hanging if a law enforcement officer is murdered. In some cases cops get shot for legal reasons, believe it or not. Some law enforcement officers do not exactly follow the law but use it to assist their little enterprises (crimes). Happens. Since I am in favor or citizens defending their loves and property I can see where a cop could be killed “legally.” That being said, we need to make the person(s) killing cops pay with their lives in public. With todays media, you know the ones that make fake stories up and blow a mole hill into a mountain, a public hanging would be prime time news! Then maybe the riminals would think before they killed someone, especially a law enforcement officer.

My oldest brother was a state trooper for thirty years, when he told me HOW he was trained to deal with the public, I stopped talking to him. As a veteran who took an oath to uphold and defend the Constitution of the US, against all enemies, foreign and domestic, I had to walk away from him before I kicked his ***. There is so much that people don’t know about cops and how they operate and cover for each other. “Police Encounters Know Your Rights”, written by Lejaques Gillespie reveals how cops “develop probable cause”. Gillespie tells us that cops are liars, look at his credentials. Cops never inform people of thier rights until AFTER they make the arrest. Cops will question people looking for a reason to make an arrest, the more arrests a cop makes, the sooner he’ll be up for promotion. If you refuse to answer questions, cops will tell you you’re interfering with an investigation or give you some other ******** excuse to keep you talking, when in truth you don’t have to answer. There are all kinds of other things that are wrong with cops, why are there good cops and bad cops, shouldn’t ALL cops be good? Whenever, a cop is killed the entire LEO community immediately goes on a manhunt until they find (and usually) gun down their man. There were more than 700 homicides in Chicago in 2016, did the police go on 700 + manhunts to find the killers? It doesn’t matter that a huge percentage of these murders were drug or gang related, a murderer on the loose is a murderer on the loose and needs to be removed from our streets. As far as cops getting shot and killed on duty, it just sounds like an occupational hazard to me, it was always a very real possibilty for me as a combat soldier, I took all kinds of fire including artillery (I nearly **** in my pants when those rounds started raining down on us). After following orders and doing my duty, I was never put on paid leave any kund of evaluation. Being a cop is a job, if cops didn’t like it they’d walk away. People need to ask cops why they do what they do and ask specific questions about their training and the law. I GUARANTEE, a lot of them will start squirming, and become evasive, not giving you full truthful answers, if you don’t believe me, just walk up to a uniformed cop and start asking questions, listen to what they say and what they DON’T say. Always remember, for your own safety, cops are trianed to overcome “resistance”. OPEN YOUR EYES PEOPLE!!! And I didn’t even go into the psychological profile of cops, open your eyes people and ask questions.

Obviously the current lethal injection for capital murder and death sentence is not a threat. You just go to sleep and never wake up. Personally I think that Public Executions should be brought back and the method should be hanging until dead. Slip that noose around a persons neck and they don’t feel so big anymore. It is painless as they drop snaps their neck and they just dangle a while. Death is instantaneous once the neck is snapped. For cop killers that have been tried and convicted with overwhelming evidence, the maximum time of appeals should be only 3 to 6 months before they meet their fate.

Oh no, you are too considerate for these cop murderers! Let’s hire an arab murderer to cut their heads, just as those savages do. In front of everyone, their families (if trhey have them). Those arabs KNOW how to cut the head with a small UNSHARPED KNIFE. This is theh least they deserve. Then give their heads to the arabs to play football with them, just as those arabs do all the time if you followed their news.

I think all cop killers should be executed by firing squad !!!!!! Why should taxpayers pay for their room & board and heath care for their lifetime????? That means we are being punished for their misdeeds!!!!!

Would like to hear more details. Serving a search warrant after 2am is a mistake, most people are asleep at that hour, so unless they are considered violent I would come at day time hours so there is no misunderstanding that it is law enforcement and not a home invasion. Serving warrants at this hour for non-violent crimes puts all involved parties at risk.

You need to be on somebody as quickly as humanely possible in order to NOT give them any time to react and fight back. Attacking your target at 2am when they are sleeping can be advantageous.
