Democrats like to think they’re smarter than everyone else, but two of the party’s fastest-rising stars were left red-faced with humiliation by the actions of quick-thinking Republicans.
President Joe Biden has left America’s southern border wide open and since 2021 a record-breaking number of asylum seekers have poured onto U.S. streets, with many of them bound to disappear before their court dates.
The Horn News told you that Democrat-led “sanctuary cities” thought they could get out of their promise to clothe, feed, and house the busloads of illegals that border-state Republicans sent them by enacting crafty city ordinances.
But once again, Republicans have had the last laugh—and it has the liberals furious.
New York City Mayor Eric Adams and Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson passed policies saying buses can only drop off illegal aliens during restricted hours, or at certain places, or with approval.
For instance, Adams passed an executive order saying that buses carrying illegals paid for “by a third party” can only drop them off between 8:30 a.m. and noon, have to give 32 hours advance notice, and have to explain if each and every illegal is single or traveling as a family.
Anyone who violates this could spend six months in prison, a fine totaling between $500 and $2,000 fine, and having his bus impounded.
Adams said he did it out of the kindness of his heart. “We cannot allow buses with people needing our help to arrive without warning at any hour of day and night,” said the mayor. Abbott’s genius move “only prevents us from providing assistance in an orderly way.”
Sure, Mayor.
Chicago has adopted a similar policy…and thought they had put Republicans like Texas Governor Greg Abbott in a box.
Think again.
Abbott outsmarted Adams by sending the illegal aliens to neighboring cities, then paying for them to take the subway into the Big Apple.
He’s already sent 13 buses carrying 450 illegal aliens into New Jersey since Dec. 30.
“New Jersey is primarily being used as a transit point for these families,” said a spokesman for New Jersey’s Democratic governor, Phil Murphy. “All or nearly all of them continued with their travels en route to their final destination of New York City.”
Adams’ fellow mayors are making fun of him publicly.
“It seems the bus operators have figured out a loophole in the system in order to ensure the migrants reach their final destination, which is New York City,” said Secaucus Mayor Michael Gonnelli—who then took a swipe at his big city counterpart. “Perhaps the requirements Mayor Adams put in place are too stringent and are resulting in unexpected consequences.”
Gonnelli said he was working with Gov. Murphy, whose office said he’s “closely coordinating with our federal and local partners” to keep the illegals out of his city.
Another Democratic mayor of a New Jersey town, Sam Joshi from Edison, said he turned away a busload of illegal aliens, because he “did not know if any of those 40 individuals were carrying weapons.”
The handful of aliens bussed into Thomas Edison’s hometown “couldn’t be identified,” said Joshi. And this is “a major security risk. It’s a health risk. And we’re just not going to tolerate that.”
Imagine how Texas, which is the Ground Zero of the open borders policy, feels.
Meanwhile, Abbott is putting Chicago through the same process.
This time, he flew hundreds of illegals into nearby Rockford, Illinois.
Mayor Brandon Johnson had to admit that “a private Boeing 777 originating from San Antonio, Texas landed at the Rockford/Chicago airport carrying 350 asylum seekers,” in a social media post on New Year’s Eve.
“There was no communication from Texas,” Johnson whined.
This morning just after 1 a.m., a private Boeing 777 originating from San Antonio, Texas landed at the Rockford/Chicago airport carrying 350 asylum seekers. There was no communication from Texas, and the City of Chicago was alerted by authorities in Rockford regarding the flight.

Johnson has ignored the complaints of American citizens in his poor, crime-ridden slum of a city for months.
In November, a woman who said she had worked closely with the mayor when she worked for a labor union, begged Johnson, “Stop the buses! Please stop those buses from comin’ in here!”
Instead, Johnson told the city’s Black residents they need to suck it up and shell it out for their new, illegal neighbors.
“He’s trying to sit there and say, ‘Well, they’re on the floors,’” said Vicki Dillard of the African Diaspora News Channel Podcast. What “are you talking about? … Can somebody please send Mayor Brandon Johnson a note that there’s too many Black folk sleeping in cars, and outside and homeless?”

Meanwhile, Eric Adams is complaining that the whole situation is unfair.
“I am dealing with a bully right now,” he said.

No, he’s dealing with a smarter politician, who’s forcing the hypocritical liberals to live up to their standards. And it’s beautiful to watch.
