A rising Democrat has just been caught accepting hundreds of thousands of dollars from a confessed intelligence agent representing America’s most doggedly hostile enemy.
The up-and-coming Democrat graciously managed to keep the fact that she received bundled checks from an agent of the Chinese Communist Party under wraps—until conservative media caught her red-handed, so to speak.
Michelle Wu, the Democratic mayor of Boston, recently made national headlines by upholding Boston’s identity as a “sanctuary city” and defying the Trump administration’s orders to deport dangerous illegal immigrants…but her ties to foreign interests go far deeper.
Wu allegedly took $300,000 from a Chinese man living in America named Gary Yu, who presents himself as the founder of Boston International Media Consulting, but he’s much, much more than that—and also much less.
He’s not actually “Gary Yu” at all: His real name is reportedly Yu Guoliang, and a Chinese-language website presents his name as an official agent of the United Front Work Department (UFWD), according to researchers at the Daily Caller News Foundation.
UFWD is a hostile agent of a hostile power, according to government officials.
“China uses what it calls “United Front” work to co-opt and neutralize sources of potential opposition to the policies and authority of its ruling Chinese Communist Party (CCP),” said a report from the U.S.-China Economic Security Review Commission, a government agency, produced during the first Trump administration. UFWD’s entire job is “to expand China’s soft power and further the CCP’s political agenda,” said another government report from 2016.
The checks came from members of a group that “Gary Yu” leads, called the New England Chinese American Alliance (NECAA), where he lists himself as the president.
NECAA’s website claims that it “raised over $300,000 from the Chinese American community for Michelle Wu.”
Yu wasn’t quiet about his work on behalf of Wu at the time, either: Although he’s since removed them, Yu plastered notices about NECAA fundraisers for Wu all over his X account (then Twitter) in 2020 and 2021.
“Yu Guoliang, the president of Hunting Overseas, and Nanning City signed an agreement to build a North American overseas intelligent workstation,” said an official Chinese-language website, “and proposed: ‘There are a large number of Guangxi people overseas, to dig and use this precious wealth to attract them to return home to start a new business. I will use my professional advantages to play a role in helping Nanning to gather.’”
In another case, Yu promised he would use his role as chairman of the North American Hangzhou Association (NAHAUS) to “work tirelessly to support the construction of Hangzhou and continue to serve the function of uniting and leading overseas Chinese.”
The fact that Wu has tried to keep the donations hush-hush, or keep the donations at all, has outraged American partiots.
“China owns the Mayor of Boston Michelle Wu (han),” said talk show host Andrew Wilkow.

But the Left is standing by Wu all the way, starting with her hometown newspaper. “Mayor Michelle Wu is many things: Savvy politician, smart Harvard-trained lawyer, devoted mother,” The Boston Globe gushed.
“But the description (one writer) keeps coming back to is the Chinese phrase: Hen li hai, used to describe someone fierce, formidable, and fearless.”

Wu’s bust is the latest example in a long string of Democrats who keep getting caught with CCP handlers, agents, donors, or girlfriends.
Before he became a U.S. congressman, Rep. Eric Swalwell, D-Calif., famously carried on a romance with Chinese spy Fang Fang.
In 2018 word broke that Sen. Diane Feinstein, D-Calif., had a driver that was a reported Chinese spy.
Another Chinese agent named Linda Sun served as a top aide to New York Governor Kathy Hochul and her predecessor, Andrew Cuomo, both Democrats.
The CCP’s cozy relationship with the highest levels of the Democratic Party goes back 30 years.
In April 1996, then-Vice President Al Gore got caught taking $140,000 that the People’s Republic of China funneled to the Democratic National Committee through a Buddhist temple. A huge round of document-shredding followed.
Bill Clinton repaid his debt by inviting the People’s Republic of China to join the World Trade Organization (WTO)—which cost America 3.8 million jobs.
President Trump has since slapped 145 percent tariffs on Chinese goods, costing it billions in sales.
No wonder the CCP wants to fund the other party.
But Wu’s future is in the hands of Boston voters. Wu is up for re-election this November.
What dirty tricks is the CCP pulling off to make sure their asset stays in the mayor’s office—and maybe moves up to the governor’s mansion or the Senate?
