A report has surfaced that a key Democratic leader into the Russia collusion investigation was allegedly caught in the middle of a spy for the Chinese government. And for decades, Sen. Dianne Feinstein may have been coughing up all our nation’s top secrets.
Feinstein, the then-chairwoman of the Senate Intelligence Committe,e was informed by the FBI roughly five years ago that one of her longtime staffers was spying on behalf of China.
The former driver was suspected of delivering U.S. political intelligence information to the Chinese Consulate — for two decades.
According to the San Francisco Chronicle, “Dianne was mortified,” upon learning about the allegations.
The alleged spy not only worked as Feinstein’s driver, but he also performed other duties such as helping out in her San Francisco office and being the Senator’s liaison to the Asian-American community within the state.
A former official said the spy “probably got an award back in China” for how easily he was able to gather and pass on intelligence to the Chinese government.
The staffer was reportedly recruited by the People’s Republic of China’s Ministry after visiting Asia to see relatives, and was befriended by someone at the country’s security agency.
“He didn’t even know what was happening — that he was being recruited,” says our source. “He just thought it was some friend.”
Even worse, President Barack Obama’s FBI decided not to charge the individual for espionage because he had passed on nothing of substance.
“They interviewed him, and Dianne forced him to retire, and that was the end of it,” says the source.
“None of her staff ever knew what was going on,” the source added. “They just kept it quiet.”
