Scandal-plagued Dem investigated over multiple deaths

A top Democrat has already begun his campaign to climb back into national prominence, releasing an ad calling himself “a battle-tested warrior.”

Unfortunately, the people he killed were mostly his own constituents. Then, investigators say, he lied to Congress about it, hid records, and thought he got away scot-free…until now.

Disgraced former New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo, who was forced out of office after a string of sexual harassment allegations, will now face federal charges for his role in letting senior citizens die from COVID-19 in the Empire State’s nursing homes.

The Justice Department, led by the Trump administration’s Attorney General Pam Bondi, has officially launched an investigation into Cuomo’s cover up of the deaths in federal reports.

To add insult to injury, someone at the DOJ apparently leaked the story to the Deep State’s favorite newspaper, The New York Times, which broke the news on Tuesday.

On March 25, 2020, then-Gov. Cuomo signed a directive stating that nursing homes could no longer refuse to take in patients who had COVID-19; in fact, they weren’t even required to test patients for the virus.

Thousands of weak, sick, and elderly patients died as a result—but Cuomo filed audits with numbers he allegedly knew to be fictitious, sometimes cutting the number of deaths by nearly half.

Eventually, sources inside his campaign admitted the problem and, once the consequences had become obvious, Cuomo denied that he had anything to do with the audit. But that didn’t hold water.

Emails between team members show the governor played a personal role in the cover up—and so do his handwritten notes, some on the memos themselves.

He admitted in the margin of one memo that, by the time he canceled the nursing home policy on May 10 of 2020, “the disease was already in the nursing homes.”

At another point, Cuomo seemed surprised at the number of deaths that had already taken place by a certain point in the report. “New York is 6,600?” he asked.

As a matter of fact, more than 9,600 people died of COVID in nursing homes before all was said and done—but his audit reported just 6,432.

Cuomo’s self-audit reportedly undercounted the number of dead bodies in his nursing home by an incredible 46 percent!

Of course, Cuomo’s favors also directed what kind of treatment people received, if and when the hospital would see them.

“NYU’s emergency room gave special treatment to donors and VIPs including Chuck Schumer while treating less fortunate patients in hallways or demanding they be ‘dumped’ to public hospital,” reported The Daily Mail in 2022.

The chickens may finally have come home to roost for Cuomo—and in the most delicious way possible.

According to the left-wing news site Axios, the investigation into Cuomo was initiated by then-Acting U.S. Attorney for D.C. Ed Martin before a few Senate Republicans blocked his confirmation to hold the office permanently.

The referral left Cuomo’s team crying foul.

“Why would someone leak it now? The answer is obvious: This is lawfare and election interference plain and simple—something President Trump and his top Department of Justice officials say they are against,” Cuomo’s mouthpiece, Rich Azzopardi, told Fox News.

Azzopardi vouched that his boss had undeniably “testified truthfully to the best of his recollection” about “events from four years earlier,” without saying a word about the lives lost by Cuomo’s donor-driven decisions.

The Horn News told you last month that House Oversight and Government Reform Committee Chairman James Comer, R-Ky., had referred Cuomo to the DOJ for prosecution.

Cuomo lied to the committee and withheld records, committee members say, trying to hide the blood on his hands.

As governor, Andrew Cuomo “knowingly and willfully made false statements to Congress,” Comer wrote to Attorney General Pam Bondi.

House Republicans—specifically, Rep. Brad Wenstrup, R-Ohio—had made the exact same referral to Biden’s DOJ last October, but Attorney General Merrick Garland did not lift a finger to investigate one of its own, giving Cuomo a reputation as someone who was “untouchable.”

The Trump administration looked into the matter back in the fall of 2020—sending letters to the Democratic governors of New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Michigan about their handling of the COVID pandemic—but the Deep State blocked the president, and then Joe Biden became his successor.

That action gives you an idea of how broad the dragnet could spread, and it caught up Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer, New Jersey Gov. Phil Murphy, and former Pennsylvania Gov. Tom Wolf.

Cuomo’s supporters claim the whole investigation is only to a way for Trump to spike Cuomo’s campaign for mayor of New York City—where polls show him in the lead.

“There’s nothing to investigate & shame on ⁦Donald Trump for politicizing an election 35 days away,” claimed Gary Greenberg, a liberal self-described child advocate. He called the Justice Department investigation “a frivolous witchhunt” into a matter “that has been investigated over & over.”

“Democratic voters must reject Trumps interference in a Dem primary and support Cuomo,” he said.

There’s nothing to investigate & shame on ⁦@DonaldTrump⁩ for politicizing an election 35 days away something he said he would stop . The JusticeDept⁩ is wasting taxpayers $ on a frivolous witchhunt that has been investigated over & over. (1-2) https://t.co/86W99j3Px2

The Justice Department dropped the Biden administration’s politically motivated investigation of the current mayor, Eric Adams. Biden accused his fellow Democrat of criminal corruption the moment Adams started criticizing Biden for presiding over an open border.

Adams was backed into this criticism after Republican governors Greg Abbott of Texas and Ron DeSantis of Florida sent busloads of illegal aliens to the Big apple, increasing crime and stressing the sanctuary city’s infrastructure to the breaking point. Once Democratic voters in New York City felt the pain of Biden’s Open Border policy, they wanted nothing to do with it.

After the Biden investigation, Adams chose to run for reelection in the overwhelmingly Democratic city as an independent.

Of course, this is just Cuomo’s latest setback: New York City’s public finance authorities gave him the bad news last month that his campaign donation’s list was so riddled with lies and “errors” that his mayoral campaign would not be received $3.5 million in matching funds.

But Cuomo’s spokesman is still trying to deny that there’s a DOJ investigation at all—or, if there is, investigators had not yet notified the Cuomo family.

“We have never been informed of any such matter,” said Azzopardi.

Would he ever lie?
