Sarah Palin sends urgent warning to Kamala Harris

Joe Biden named California Sen. Kamala Harris as his running mate on Tuesday, making history by selecting the first Black woman to compete on a major party’s presidential ticket.

Harris is just the third woman ever nominated as a major party vice presidential candidate — and one of the former female presidential candidates had a warning for Harris.

Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, who was Republican presidential candidate John McCain’s running mate in 2008, gave Harris six pieces of advice in a heartwarming social media post — including the warning, “trust no one.”

She also asked Harris to recognize the historic moment and not forget the others that came before her.

Congrats to the democrat VP pick ???????? Climb upon Geraldine Ferraro’s and my shoulders, and from the most amazing view in your life consider lessons we learned:

1) out of the chute trust no one new;

2) fight mightily to keep your own team with you – they know you, know your voice, and most importantly are trustworthy;

3) don’t get muzzled – connect with media and voters in your own unique way. Some yahoos running campaigns will suffocate you with their own self-centered agenda so remember YOU were chosen for who YOU are. So stay connected with America as you smile and ignore deceptive “handlers” trying to change you;

4) some fun terms you may learn:
“OTR” – an orchestrated campaign stop that’s meant to look un-orchestrated where you “normalize” in front of voters. (I’d remembered not packing my running shoes, they turned it into a whole campaign stop with media detailing my every move trying on shoes.) OTR’s get bizarre (try eating in front of vultures looking for the “gotcha” shot!) but my team made OTR’s the second most fun thing!

“Ropeline”: thee MOST fun thing! Every single handshake and holler and hug and smile melted my heart, energized my soul, and gave me the utmost hope in the greatest country on earth! The ropeline is often the only way to literally touch those whom you wish to serve, so be sincere in looking in their eyes, understanding why they’re there, never forgetting they represent the innumerable Americans putting their trust in you to serve for the right reasons. It’s who and what they represent that is all that matters!

5) don’t forget the women who came before you;

6) have fun! This IS the greatest country in the world and hopefully you’ll be blessed beyond belief, like I was, with meeting new people from all walks of life and see just how great it is!

???????? more to come… including one of the funniest things in my life, right before my debate with Sen. Joe Biden… stay tuned!

In choosing Harris, Biden is embracing a former rival from the Democratic primary who is familiar with the unique rigor of a national campaign. The 55-year-old first-term senator, who is also of South Asian descent, is one of the party’s most prominent figures. She quickly became a top contender for the No. 2 spot after her own White House campaign ended.

In May, The Horn News predicted Harris would be selected by the Biden campaign.

She will appear with Biden for the first time as his running mate at an event Wednesday near his home in Wilmington, Delaware.

President Donald Trump told reporters Tuesday he was “a little surprised” that Biden picked Harris, pointing to their debate stage disputes during the primary. Trump argued she was “about the most liberal person in the U.S. Senate.”

“I would have thought that Biden would have tried to stay away from that a little bit,” he said.

A woman has never served as president or vice president in the United States. Hillary Clinton was the Democratic presidential nominee in 2016. The two women have been nominated as running mates on major party tickets: Democrat Geraldine Ferraro in 1984 and Palin in 2008. Their parties lost in the general election.

The vice presidential pick carries increased significance this year. If elected, Biden would be 78 when inaugurated in January, the oldest man to ever assume the presidency.

One standout moment from the Democratic presidential primary was between Harris and Biden. During a debate, she said Biden made “very hurtful” comments about his past work with segregationist senators and slammed his opposition to busing as schools began to integrate in the 1970s.

“There was a little girl in California who was a part of the second class to integrate her public schools, and she was bused to school every day,” she said. “And that little girl was me.”

Shaken by the attack, Biden called her comments “a mischaracterization of my position.”

The exchange resurfaced recently with a report that one of Biden’s closest friends and a co-chair of his vice presidential vetting committee, former Connecticut Sen. Chris Dodd, still harbors concerns about the debate and that Harris hadn’t expressed regret.

The Horn News debunked Harris’ debate story in July last year.
