Barack Obama’s half-brother, Malik “Roy” Obama, has released a tell-all book about the former U.S. president — and he didn’t pull any punches.
Calling Obama “cold and ruthless,” Malik outlines their strained relationship and how the Democratic leader is disliked by his extended family.
“He got rich and became a snob. What I saw was he was the kind of person that wants people to worship him,” Malik, 62, told The New York Post in an interview over the weekend. “He needs to be worshipped and I don’t do that. I am his older brother so I don’t do that.”
The older Obama brother says throughout the years, their relationship became increasingly hostile as Obama rose through the ranks. Malik claims Obama wouldn’t help their family or return phone calls, and their strained relationship eventually exploded when Malik set up a charitable foundation in their father’s name.
“We had a big fight on the phone because he was not in support and insisted I shut down the website and not continue with the foundation,” Malik Obama wrote of a confrontation in 2009. “He had his reasons but I was not having any of it. We talked late into the night that night. He threatened to ‘cut me off’ if I continued with the idea.”
During the 2016 presidential election, Malik became an outspoken supporter of President Donald Trump — and was effectively “excommunicated” by Democrats and his brother.
Malik released a tell-all book, “Big Bad Brother From Kenya,” last month. He told The Post he spent approximately 22 years writing the book.
Since his falling out with younger brother, Malik has become well-known on social media for controversial anti-Democrat statements.
When asked if he still supports Trump, Malik said “110%.”
Trump is “not fake. He tells us the way he sees it,” he said. “He’s bold and fearless and he’s tough.”
