New Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Carson Wentz says he became trapped in a bathroom of a New Jersey gas station and had to be rescued.
Wentz tweeted out Wednesday night that he had to be rescued by attendants with garden sheers and another person with a “leg kick” after he became locked in a bathroom.
WNBC-TV reports his comments was retweeted thousands of times and elicited numerous social media responses, including memes and gifs.
The Eagles traded up in April to draft Wentz at second overall.
It wasn’t immediately known where the gas station is located in New Jersey.

Maybe this was a prank by veteran Eagles players. Quite often pranks/hazing is inflicted on rookie players.

That almost happened to me in the Nice France airport and my flight was about to board. The lock was messed up and I was able to open it after many tries. It was ceiling to floor stall and I almost panicked.
‘Star quarterback’? The kid was just drafted – he hasn’t set foot on a field against an NFL opponent…OK, given it is the Eagles…of course, that begs the question ‘which bathroom’?
