House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi sat down with New York Times columnist Paul Krugman on Sunday to discuss public policy. At the event in New York City, she touched on climate change, and its connection to job creation and prosperity.
No one could have seen her shocking 19 word confession that came next.
In a long speech that included stumbling on her words, and losing her train of thought, Pelosi concluded that for those Americans who do not agree with the Democrats agenda, there would be “collateral damage.”
You can watch Pelosi’s disturbing confession below —
“We owe the American people to be there for them, for their financial security, respecting the dignity and worth of every person in our country, and if there is some collateral damage for some others who do not share our view, well, so be it, but it shouldn’t be our original purpose,” Pelosi said.
She did not make clear who would be subject to the “collateral damage” or what she even meant by it.
But, her shocking confession comes at a time as many liberals have recently become like an unhinged mob, with several Democratic leaders calling for violence against Republicans.
In July, Rep. Maxine Waters told a crowd of angry liberals to take action on the streets. In September, Senator Ted Cruz and his wife were chased out of a restaurant by liberal protesters. On Monday, Pelosi told students at Harvard University that Democrats will win back control at the midterm elections, and that it would either be done by a “wave” or a “tsunami.”
Pelosi has faced mounting calls to step down, and allow for younger Democratic leadership to replace her.
If Democrats were to regain power after the midterm elections, the only “collateral damage” that may come as result … would be Pelosi saying goodbye to her career.
