The sister of pop star Mariah Carey has been arrested on prostitution charges in upstate New York.
Police tell the Daily Freeman of Kingston that 55-year-old Alison Carey was arrested in Saugerties on Friday following an investigation at a hotel. Police say she solicited money in exchange for sex from an undercover police officer.
Police describe Carey as a transient, and say she advertised her services online. Saugerties Police Chief Joseph Sinagra tells the newspaper that she identified herself as the performer’s sister when she was arrested.
Carey is due in Saugerties Town Court on Aug. 30.
It wasn’t immediately clear if she had an attorney who could comment on the charges.

Do not set in judgement. Just don’t. There is no evidence in that story that tells you all anything about what this poor sole is about. Her sister is bucks up and you don’t know if or how she has tried to help. What dose this poor sole do but point out that she has a connection to Mariah just looking to get out of being busted. From the photo it looks like she needs help but first she has to tell herself she is ready to dry out and rejoin the family. OK, I’m not a big Miriah Carey fan and don’t guess I ever will be but there’s only one place where I read that we should help our brethren and that’s in the Bible. I don’t know if MC professes Christianity or not but it is her choice to help her sister or not. She may have tried, as some have suggested and she may not have tried. In the end it’s her choice. She apparently has talent and has worked hard to develope a following of fans and many, many hit records. I’ll not cut her down or even insinuate that she hasn’t tried to help her sister. Her sister needs to take the first step and I can’t say that she has or not. Fame is fickle and to lose that fame because others jump to conclusions just to bring down a talented artist, well, its just not right. It’s possible ;maybe’ Mariah tried to help her sister man times and the sister just went back doing what she does. I have a brother we call ‘the bad apple’ or ‘the bad seed’ out of 7 kids in the family. I tried helping him for 10 years and gave up. He didn’t want to change and all he was is a ‘user’ and pshycopath. 2 therpist told me he was a pschycopath. So I along with all my other brother and sister left him alone. The get Worst as they get older too. You cAN’T DO it For them. They have to WANT to help themselves.
