A cardboard cutout of a head in a passenger seat definitely caught the attention of a Washington State Patrol trooper Tuesday morning.
That’s because it wasn’t just any old cardboard head, but that of Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump.
A trooper stopped the motorist who was driving with the cardboard likeness in a carpool lane south of Seattle on Highway 167. The stunt netted the driver a $136 ticket.
Another trooper Tweeted a photo of the cardboard Trump head affixed to the passenger seat headrest.
Washington State Patrol spokesman Rick Johnson says every now and then they get somebody trying to be funny and says they’ve seen everything from teddy bears to mannequins all sitting beside drivers.
But Trump’s head? That was, to borrow a catchphrase — huge.

Why was he given a ticket if it was on the passenger side and not obstructing his vision? Was the policeman on a quota and needed to write the ticket? What about all the people all over the country beating their gums on a cell phone , texting, putting on make up, etc and really putting other peoples lives in danger? Guess it all is about the MONEY!
He was in “carpool lane”. Need to have 2 or more people in the vehicle to be in that lane.
He was in the car pool lane . LAW SAYS THERE HAS TO BE TWO “PEOPLE” IN THE CAR, NOT CAED BOARD PICTURES.. I guess you did not read the post.
Does seem odd this comic mask, teddy bears, etc., on the passenger seat – how is that any business of the law if it doesn’t interfere with the driving. Getting very worrying the extent to which the law enforcement authorities are now encroaching on peoples’ lives – if left unchallenged, people could soon find themselves living in a police state and it’s all crept up on them by stealth. Rather like the British people found with membership of the EU.
The article says carpool lane, meaning that they are using these items to look as though there is a person in the passenger seat so that they can pass the required 2 person HOV.
Hey Guys read the article. They were driving in the carpool lane!
HOV lane ?

He was driving in the car pool lane. He deserved a ticket.
Other than driving in the carpool lane, which is usually reserved to a minimum of two actual people, there is nothing wrong with the cardboard cutout.
The ticket was not issued because he had a cardboard cutout of Trump. He was ticketed for driving in the carpool lane without a live passenger.
