Maxine Waters got rich during 2020 election

Rep. Maxine Waters, D-Calif., must be the most brilliant investing mind of our generation, considering the multi-million dollar mansion and lavish lifestyle the far-left Democrat affords on her $174,000 annual Congressional salary.

For years, investing and hedge fund managers have publicly wondered how she has become so fabulously wealthy with that salary.

Waters could surely explain — after all, she heads the House Financial Services Committee — but she doesn’t.

And despite running an expensive re-election campaign in her solidly blue district, Waters’ family again ended up richer during the 2019-2020 election, FEC records show.

Karen Waters, Maxine’s daughter, cashed in an eye-watering $240,000 from her 82-year-old mother’s re-election 2019-2020 campaign.

That’s even more than the $200,000 Karen was paid in the 2018 election. According to official filings, Karen’s job is to lead “get out the vote” efforts and mail campaign fliers. It seems the lockdowns and U.S. economic downturn won’t impact the Waters family holidays.

Karen isn’t the only one cashing in, of course.

The Los Angeles Times reported in 2004 that, at the time, Waters family members had received more than $1 million over eight years from campaigns and businesses associated with the Democratic leader.

In the 16 years since, Waters has been named the “Most Corrupt Member of Congress” five times by the left-leaning Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington — in 2005, 2006, 2009, 2011, and 2017.

In 2010, she was charged with three ethics violations in connection to the suspected misuse of former President Barack Obama’s massive 2008 bailout. Waters was accused of earmarking $12 million in taxpayer money into a small, regional bank her husband was invested in.

“Tom Fitton, Judicial Watch president, reported that Waters’s friend and fellow California Democratic congresswoman Zoe Lofgren helped delay Waters’s scheduled 2010 House ethics trial on the matter by stalling subpoenas and improperly firing two attorneys working on the investigation,” The National Review reported in 2017.

No wonder Waters keeps doing it.

She keeps getting away with it.
