“On the Holmes Front” with Frank Holmes
President Donald Trump never shows how much stress comes with his job, but his presidency has hit a crisis.
Gas prices, increased by the Iran war, have driven inflation to its highest rate in years. His approval rating has tanked as low as 35 percent… lower than George W. Bush at the same point in his presidency. He has alienated some core supporters like the Gen Z men who voted for him in 2024.
And passive-aggressive Republicans in Congress refuse to fully fund the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) or move his top legislative priority, the SAVE America Act, to secure American elections.
All that spells trouble for President Trump, who won the 2024 election by promising secure elections and mass deportations of illegal immigrants.
President Trump would never ask for help, but several of his allies have rolled out a plan to achieve his goals, keep his promises, and put his presidency back on top.
They show practical, workable ways for the president to carry out the largest deportation operation in U.S. history, fund DHS, and make sure only Americans vote in U.S. elections — and do it fast.
President Trump started out strong in his deportation efforts, arresting and shipping out accused murderers, terrorists, gang members, rapists, child abusers, and other criminals from Minneapolis during Operation Metro Surge.
In his first year, a reported 2.5 million illegal aliens left the United States, 1.9 million of them on their own.
But even at his original pace, it would take years to deport the millions of illegal immigrants who entered the U.S. during the Biden-Harris administration alone… and that was before he replaced Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem with the more easy-going Markwayne Mullin.
But immigration experts rolled out a detailed plan for President Trump to keep his campaign pledge—and underlined why he has to.
“A growing fiscal crisis at the state and local level are culminating in an increasingly justified belief among American citizens that their government is failing in its most basic obligation: to serve its own people first,” said a new report from The Mass Deportation Coalition. “Immigration policy must serve the nation, not replace it.”
The 104-page-long playbook contains a 21-point plan to deport all the Biden illegals, and more, fast.
The plan begins where the illegal aliens are flocking: American jobsites. They would enhance workplace enforcement by taking ICE agents into the factories, farms, and meat-packing plants that hire illegal labor, arrest their foreign labor, and deport aliens promptly.
It would also have the U.S. deport people who overstay legal visas… like the 9/11 hijackers.
But they would also take a step back by putting the employee verification process online and letting the IRS impose real consequences when it finds an illegal alien has gotten a job with a stolen Social Security number. The IRS would tell the business owner every employee must provide a valid SSN or legal work number, or the employer could get into hot water.
“An employer that has not terminated an unverified employee, based on payroll tax data, should be subject to an audit by the IRS to determine the total amount of wages deducted by the employer that were paid to unverified employees over the past seven years. These would be unlawful deductions, since it is illegal to employ aliens without work authorization, subject to back taxes and interest penalties,” says the report.
The plan calls for more facilities to hold the illegals arrested, more high-security facilities like Florida’s Alligator Alcatraz or Indiana’s Speedway Slammer. It praises the $45 billion President Trump put into the One Big Beautiful Bill Act to detain illegal aliens and asks for much more.
“It is critical to increase the number of ‘daily beds’ available to house aliens while they are in removal proceedings and under final removal orders,” says the report.
They also ask for Congress to get state governments involved in the fight. The 50 states can tax remittances to foreign countries. Oklahoma earned $13 million in remittance taxes from its one percent tax last year alone, the report states. States can also ban illegal aliens from all state welfare programs.
The president is already in the process of implementing some of the report’s suggestions, like reforming phony “asylum” claims and blocking immigration from dangerous nations.
But there are others he can’t because of Congress—and it threatens to become a major headache for his presidency.
The report calls for deportations to be streamlined under Homeland Security Task Forces (HSTFs)…but those report to DHS and—thanks to liberal Democrats and Beltway RINOs—DHS is in a partial shutdown.
That’s where another Trump ally comes in.
Rep. Chip Roy, R-Texas, introduced a bill to fully fund DHS and secure elections with the SAVE America Act all in one bill.
The “Homeland Security and Further Additional Continuing Appropriations Act, 2026,” introduced this week, couples the immigration funding with the SAVE America Act, which would require voters to prove they are U.S. citizens when registering to vote and show a government identification card with their photo before voting in their precinct.
“The House GOP has acted responsibly, passing the SAVE America Act and fully funding DHS four times. We should not concede to Democrat demands, putting ICE and Border Patrol funding at risk through a reconciliation strategy that sets a bad precedent,” said Roy in a press release obtained by The Horn. “Instead, we should double down and pass this bill I just filed, which would fully fund our agents and also pass the SAVE America Act—President Trump’s top priority to secure our elections.”
“Following passage of my bill, we should go on offense and move a reconciliation bill quickly that funds all of DHS along with key America First priorities like defense,” he said.
As the four successful House votes show, the real problem is in the RINO-run Senate.
Luckily, Chip Roy has a plan for that, too.
Weak Republicans hide behind a Senate rule known as the filibuster—a parliamentary maneuver that requires 60 votes to pass any piece of legislation. The word “filibuster” may make people think of Jimmy Stewart passing out in Mr. Smith Goes to Washington or Strom Thurmond reading the telephone book for hours on end to fill time. But today’s filibuster doesn’t require anyone to say a word: They just say they’re invoking the filibuster, and it’s treated as though they actually did the work.
“This is what we call a ‘fake’ or ‘zombie’ filibuster,” wrote Roy in a “Dear Colleague” letter to his fellow congressmen on February 16.
The good news is, this can be eliminated—and no one has to change a single Senate rule.
“Existing Senate rules allow that if a majority (51) is present (a quorum), and seeks a vote on the SAVE America Act (or anything) – it will force a minority (mostly Democrats) to try to stop it by speaking on the floor (a real filibuster) until either side gives out,” he said.
“There is no need to change any Senate rules (‘nuke the filibuster’) to do this,” he said.
Between the two plans, President Trump could outsmart the Democrats, outmaneuver the Republicans, and keep his word to the tens of millions of loyal Americans who voted for him to Make America Great Again.
If he doesn’t keep his promises, especially if Republicans lose the midterms (as they look poised to do), he knows he will be impeached.
Just as his first term was crippled by the Russia hoax, his second term will be paralyzed with impeachment and talk of invoking the 25th Amendment to remove him from office.
President Trump’s friends, allies, and well-wishers have thrown him three lifelines. He’d be smart to take them.
