The man who led immigration enforcement under two open-borders presidents is warning that liberal Democrats have planted “ticking time bombs” from California to Massachusetts and New Mexico to Minnesota.
How long will it be until an illegal immigrant kills you or one of your loved ones?
“It’s just a matter of time,” John Torres, who served as acting director of Immigration and Customs Enforcement under George W. Bush and Barack Obama, told Newsmax TV this week.
“It’s a ticking time bomb.”
“You have many of these ticking time bombs in the community just waiting to explode and, sadly, it ends up victimizing innocent people in the community,” said Torres, who led ICE in 2008 and 2009.
Torres was reacting to an illegal alien drunk driver who was driving the wrong way down a street in Lakewood, New Jersey, when he killed a mother and her 11-year-old daughter went to get ice cream.
Police had arrested the man identified as the criminal alien killer multiple times, Torres said, but released him instead of deporting him thanks to New Jersey’s sanctuary policies.
“A sanctuary city policy is such poor public safety practice,” Torres told Newsmax’s early morning news program, Wake Up America. “How are you actually protecting the community with a sanctuary city policy like this?”
“You could have prevented this crime if they just would have taken him into custody,” Torres said in a comment aimed at law-breaking liberals. All they had to do was transfer their “custody over to ICE.”
The White House has had enough, too. The Justice Department published a list of sanctuary jurisdictions on Tuesday, naming and shaming the cities, counties, and states that let criminal aliens.
“Sanctuary policies impede law enforcement and put American citizens at risk by design,” said Attorney General Pam Bondi.
“The Department of Justice will continue bringing litigation against sanctuary jurisdictions and work closely with the Department of Homeland Security to eradicate these harmful policies around the country.”
In all, the DOJ list has 12 states, and the District of Columbia—which is technically run by Congress. It includes four counties—three in the sanctuary states of California and Illinois, and one in Baltimore County, Maryland.
The sanctuary states include such blue states as California, Illinois, New York, and Minnesota—but also the swing state of Nevada.
And the report points out 18 cities led by radical left-wing Democrats such as Boston, Albuquerque, East Lansing, and Philadelphia—the city where the Declaration of Independence was signed.
Open borders lobbyists claim illegal aliens are doing the jobs Americans won’t. But America has always had criminals, gangs, and drunk driving killers.
To make matters worse, the biggest experts in the immigration debate, says the feds’ account of sanctuary cities isn’t complete. In fact, it’s about 968 short.

The DOJ’s list is “not exhaustive and including only a handful of the 1,003 sanctuary jurisdictions from FAIR’s most recent sanctuary report, the DOJ is drawing a hard line,” the Federation for American Immigration Reform pointed out on the social media platform X.
What’s concerning is the number of political leaders who shelter criminal aliens from accountability has exploded, “increasing from fewer than a dozen in the 1990s to 564 in 2018,” to more than one thousand as of this May.

Republican lawmakes have had enough and want to use the list to change policy, pronto.
“Enough is enough. Defund EVERY sanctuary city!” said Rep. Lance Gooden, R-Texas.
Even Republicans in Democrat-controlled states are fed up. “Sanctuary Cities should be BANNED ENTIRELY from Michigan. The law is not a suggestion,” said the Republican leader of the Michigan state Senate, Aric Nesbitt on Thursday morning.
The Trump administration is doing everything he can to deport illegals—building new super-prisons, recruiting thousands of new ICE agents, and holding mass deportations in “sanctuary cities” from sea to shining sea.
ICE is buiding an Indiana-based super detention facility to rival Florida’s “Alligator Alcatraz” in the state of Indiana, dubbed the “Speedway Slammer.”
In its aim to hire 10,000 new ICE agents, the Trump administration has lifted all age restrictions on applicants, who used to have to wait until they were 21 and aged out at 37 or 40. ICE is also offering new agents up to $50,000 as a signing bonus.
They asked, and they’ve received. America has flooded ICE with a breathtaking 80,000 applications, according to Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem.
And the government isn’t just reviewing resumes—it’s hiring at “an extremely high rate,” revealed the current acting director of ICE, Todd Lyons.
One of the newest ICE agents on the payroll is Superman: Dean Cain, the star of the series Lois and Clark: The New Adventures of Superman, as The Horn reported.
Unlike the current Superman movie, Dean Cain stands up for truth, justice, and the American border.

The liberal Left may still scream that illegal aliens are doing the jobs Americans won’t do—but deporting illegal aliens isn’t one of them.
