A Massachusetts woman can check something off her bucket list: She celebrated her 87th birthday by skydiving.
The Recorder reports Janis Lefebre’s children bought her the skydiving package from Jumptown, a skydiving center based in Orange, after learning that jumping out of a plane was something she always wanted to do.
A crowd of family and friends gathered on Sunday to cheer on Lefebre’s descent from 13,500 feet.
Lefebre says her first try was “perfect.” She says skydiving lived up to her expectations and she wouldn’t hesitate to do it again.
Lefebre’s family members think Lefebre might go running with the bulls in Spain or ride in a racecar for her next birthday. Her daughter Lori Craig says her mother “wears us out.”

Fantastic that Janis is physically able to do this at her age. Also sounds like she has a wonderful and supporting family around her.
Absolutely amazing Happy belated birthday hope you had a great time!
I’m only 77 and I wish I could have jumped with her. I’ve always wanted to do it. Years ago I mentioned it one day and my oldest g/son said he’d do it with me. (he was only a teenager at the time) Fearing for him, that he might get hurt, I put it aside and decided not to mention it again….now I’m ready and would like to make more than one jump. I’m so glad she got to do the jump for her Birthday. Congratulations for doing it.
I wished this women a belated Happy birthday and my comment isn’t even on here, it was not a repeat comment I don’t get this.
