Oceanside police say a suspected drunk driver struck and killed a man, then drove for a mile with his body lodged in the car.
Twenty-nine-year-old Esteysi Sanchez of Oceanside was arrested Monday morning for vehicular manslaughter. She’s jailed and it’s unclear whether she has a lawyer.
Police say that around 6:30 a.m., Sanchez hit a man on a sidewalk.
KNSD-TV says the man’s body went through the windshield and ended up on the front passenger seat but his severed leg crashed through the back window and landed on the trunk.
Police say Sanchez drove about a mile, parked in a cul-de-sac and walked away. She was arrested a short time later.
The victim’s name hasn’t been released.

At this point the driver’s lawyer may want to see what the options are for a plea bargain. It’s sad to see that a pedestrian was needlessly killed by a drunk driver. If this goes to a jury hopefully the driver will get the maximum sentence.
She will probably say the pedestrian attached her vehicle and tried to get in to hijack her, used his leg as a weapon, and she managed to escape him by slamming on the brakes, jumping out, and running away. No witnesses so who is to say she is not right?
Was she Blond?
Is she an illegal? Would seems like her name says it all. Damn Obama.
It is common for them to knock down power poles , humans must be extra points. Su caro me coro, no comprenday Ready on the right ready on the left, Ok who driving away with the one in the middle.
Didn’t this same thing happen a few years ago? I’d think the story was recycled, but if memory serves, it was a man driving. Funny thing, you never heard about stuff like this until cars got to be so “safe.”
