If it’s too risky to walk down your city’s streets after dark, there’s a better than one-in-five chance your mayor is a Democrat.
That’s the word from a new study, which found members of the Democratic Party run 11 of the 50 most dangerous cities, not just in the U.S., but in the world.
Baltimore, Detroit, Memphis, St. Louis, New Orleans, and many more deep-blue cities won the blue ribbon for endangering their citizens’ lives.
Researchers at Numbeo.com compared the level of crime in 50 urban areas around the world, which it called the Crime Index, as well as the likelihood that someone could live in a city without becoming a victim, the Safety Index. The higher the Crime Index, the lower the Safety Index.
The most dangerous city in America is Baltimore, the 15th most dangerous city on the globe, they found. The city has a Crime Index of 75 and a Safety Index of 25.
Memphis, which has been in the news for its lawless police units, nipped at Baltimore’s heels, ranking number 18. Detroit came in one notch lower—just above Cape Town, South Africa.
Albuquerque, New Mexico, is number 23, outranking #24 Tijuana.
St. Louis ranks 27th, just below Kingston, Jamaica.
Other U.S. cities on the list include New Orleans (#35), Oakland (#38), Milwaukee (#40), Chicago (#43), Philadelphia (#46), and Houston (#50).
Every U.S. city in the worldwide crime Hall of Shame is run by a Democrat — and most have been for a long time.
“Baltimore voters haven’t elected a Republican mayor since Theodore McKeldin left office in 1967,” reported the Baltimore Sun.
“The last mayor considered to be a Republican would have been Louis C. Miriani,” said former Detroit News reporter Berl Falbaum. Miriani lost the 1961 mayoral election and left office in January 1962. “Mr. Miriani presided over a crackdown on crime that outraged black leaders and mobilized black voters to support” his Democratic opponent, the nearby Toledo Blade reported. “It could be argued that 1961 was the election in which Detroit started on the path that led to its economic collapse 52 years later.”
It didn’t do the city’s crime rate any good, either.
Between 1961 and 1973, Detroit’s assault rate was 473 per 100,000 residents. In 2021, Detroit’s violent crime rate was 2,178 per 100,000.
Memphis, which has had one Republican mayor since 1967, saw its crime rate increase more than eight percent last year.
New Orleans last had a Republican mayor in 1872!
It’s no coincidence that many of these cities are also the home of Soros-funded district attorneys, who refuse to prosecute criminals for their crimes.
Things have gotten so bad in Philadelphia that D.A. Larry Krasner has been impeached.
What Krasner is to Philadelphia, Kim Foxx is to Chicago…and Mayor Lori Lightfoot is running for reelection.
Lightfoot said her town is safe—she just released a campaign ad touting her record on crime.
“Lightfoot’s invested more than any mayor” in fighting crime, the 30-second spot claims. “Lightfoot won’t quit until we’re the safest city in America.”
But Chicago had 723 murders last year—a 40 percent increase since Lightfoot set foot in the Mayor’s Mansion.
That’s a record terrible enough to make Chicago the 43rd most dangerous city in the world—a fact unlikely to help Mayor Lightfoot’s reelection campaign.
The people living in Democrat-dominated cities are dying in droves…but their mayors think everything is fine.
What do Democrats care about the suffering in poor neighborhoods? They don’t live there.
A recent survey found the 40 richest congressional districts are all represented by Democrats.
The U.S. Census Bureau released its American Community Survey last week, analyzing the median house value in all of the nation’s 435 congressional districts.
The top 20 were located in California or New York.
Only 10 of the top 100 most affluent districts had a Republican member of Congress.
On the other hand, 24 of the 40 districts with the lowest house values were represented by Republicans.
If they have Republican mayors, they’re probably safer for it.
