This is a Christmas people in Wisconsin will never forget—because, this year, at least five families will be missing loved ones around the dinner table.
We all read the headlines: “5 dead, more than 40 injured after SUV plows into crowd.”
Milwaukee District Attorney John Chisholm released the man driving that SUV, Darrel Brooks, on bail. Three weeks before Brooks (allegedly) rammed his SUV into the Waukesha Christmas parade killing five people, he ran over a woman who gave birth to his child. Chisholm decided this heinous crime demanded Brooks pay bail for the attempted murder of his baby-mama on November 2—and he set the bail at $1,000. The suspect posted bail in no time flat and was back out on the streets by November 11.
Instead of manning up, Chisholm blamed his own office, releasing a statement that said the low bail is “not consistent with the approach of the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s office.” But Chisholm is not alone.
“There are hundreds and hundreds of cases in Milwaukee County. Even the backlog of full homicides is tremendous at this point,” said former Wisconsin State Supreme Court Justice Janine Geske.
Honestly, Chisholm wasn’t even surprised. In 2007, he told the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, “Is there going to be an individual I divert, or I put into treatment program, who’s going to go out and kill somebody? You bet. Guaranteed. It’s guaranteed to happen.”
Talk about a self-fulfilling prophecy.
Chisolm is just one of many district attorneys who worry more about criminals’ mental health than their victims’ survival. There’s Chesa Boudin in San Francisco, Larry Krasner in Philadelphia, Kim Foxx in Chicago, John Creuzot in Dallas, Joe Gonzalez in Bexar County (San Antonio), and others.
They all have one thing in common: They all received huge donations from Hungarian-born billionaire George Soros.
Soros’ front groups would swoop into a district attorney’s race, drop an absurd amount of money in the last days of the race, and help elect a far-left district attorney to open up the prisons and set the crooks free.
They have announced they will not prosecute theft under a certain amount–$1,000 in Chicago. They stopped prosecuting drug crimes and prostitution for “sex workers.” They instituted “no cash bail” policies—or set super-low bail for the few violent criminals they decide to prosecute.
What happened next? Their cities were overrun by smash-and-grab burglaries, drugs, prostitution, and a spike of violent crime.
Other than the five people murdered while celebrating the festive holiday season, Milwaukee has already seen 195 other murders this year. Philadelphia will probably have close to 550 murders by the end of the year. Chicago looks scheduled to end the year with 848 murders.
“It’s George Soros’ fault. This movement to put allies of criminals in charge of prosecuting crime, something which comes straight out of a Christopher Nolan Batman movie, is directly slaughtering what little quality of life remained in America’s cities,” wrote Scott McKay at The American Spectator.
The fact “that those cities have not yet devolved into American Baghdads in which private militias rule street corner by street corner is surprising. Were it not for the massive outmigration of middle-class citizens to the suburbs and exurbs this would have already happened.”
Another group that suffers the most from violent crime, the elderly, has begged Republicans to pay attention to how Soros is turning their retirement communities into shooting ranges.
“George Soros is spending millions to destroy the U.S. justice system. If he cannot do it through Congress or the Presidency, he will do it through local law enforcement. His bought and paid for politicians are releasing criminal illegal immigrants onto the streets to continue targeting innocents,” said the conservative Association of Mature American Citizens. “They are turning cities like San Francisco and Los Angeles into open sewers of human feces and drug paraphernalia. George Soros and his organizations may be the most dangerous non-governmental entities in the world.”
He may run the most dangerous non-governmental organizations in the world, but George Soros also holds sway over the justice systems of the country’s largest cities—and they’re quickly becoming some of the most dangerous places in the civilized world.
The best present American cities could give themselves is a broom—to sweep these prosecutors straight out of office.
