Judge delays case against alleged rapist Bill Cosby

Bill Cosby’s preliminary hearing in a criminal sex-assault case is on hold while a Pennsylvania appeals court considers his effort to have the case thrown out before trial.

The Pennsylvania Superior Court put the case on hold Tuesday while the court weighs the prosecution request to shut down Cosby’s pretrial appeal.

The 78-year-old Cosby is accused of drugging and molesting a Temple University employee in his suburban Philadelphia home in 2004.

He says a former district attorney promised he would never be charged in the case.

A different district attorney last year reopened the case and filed charges against Cosby in December, before the statute of limitations expired.

The preliminary hearing to determine if probable cause exists to send the case to trial had been set for March 8.

Bill Cosby was deprived of an opportunity to receive a fair trial by being required to participate in civil proceedings and then having a previous prosecutors decision to not prosecute revoked. This may serve to slow down civil cases in the future as the accused waits for the statute of limitations to expire before agreeing to talk in a related civil case.

The saying, “Get it in writing” could not have a better example.

Let this be a salutary lesson to everyone; NO ONE in any position of government is EVER to be trusted. EVER.

That said, drugging and raping multiple women deserves serious punishment. Maybe after ol’ Bill wakes up in prison a few times with a sore asshole and no memory of how it happened, he’ll finally get it.

i can remember a story about a guy who was solicited to join a kiddie porn website; when he reported this to the FBI, he was told to “play along, get in, get evidence,” only to find HIMSELF arrested and charged 5 – 7 months later! Poor guy had NO PROOF that he was told what he was told, either.

Terrible situations like this are repeated daily; at the root of it, IMO, are various Court rulings which say “Police may lie to suspects.” Tell me, whom does the police NOT consider a suspect? Even each other? So remember always, that in any or all circumstances, police may freely lie to you and get NO punishment, so if you’re ever required to deal with them, insist upon written agreements signed by those with authority to do so before proceeding. Even better if you can audio or video record the promises when made…or insist that it be done…with a copy of the tape given to you and played BY you before going on.

IOW, there’s a REASON why you should remain silent – MANY reasons, in truth. Tell it to your attorney and the judge; otherwise, make the prosecution prove it’s case.

Bill Cosby made advances to me many years ago when I was on the set at MGM. He is not a nice person.
Before his comedies, he was on a program called “I Spy” which was a detective show.
Since nothing happened to me except his gross conduct I never brought it up.

Because he portrayed such wholesomeness comedies later I figured nobody would believe me anyhow.

I feel like Cosby has been subjected to all this because of money! Why was these things not reported when they occurred ?? The work place in years passed, was not so strict on this type behavior. There was flirting, jokes, and yes proposition BUT the ladies involved should have been capable of just saying NO and walking away. Of course a large amount of these things were also created and delivered by women!! I worked for many years in office environment and know these things to be true!!

As a child I grew up watching and trusting Bill Cosby all the way through adulthood. He is a waste of skin, what a lousy pos he turned out to be. I almost feel that he has stolen a part of my childhood with this crap. Why couldn’t he just keep his mouth shut?

    “keep his mouth shut.”

The zipper on his pants – and in his mind – seemed to be the larger problem…

Yes, our heroes often show themselves to be imperfect, even badly flawed; even so, i learned much of clean humor and especially, comedic timing from Cosby, and i’ll not throw that away because his halo is fallen.

He certainly should get jailtime if for no other reason than to show that NO one is above the law, no matter HOW much money they have(of course, in the Real World, those who can afford the best attorneys make out MUCH better than the poor who suffer indignities and outrages the wealthy usually escape).
