“On the Holmes Front,” with Frank Holmes
She may have seemed to be quiet, but Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez has come roaring back into the public spotlight, with a sweeping new legislative proposal that she says will do nothing less than change the world.
On Thursday, AOC and Senator Bernie Sanders introduced the latest bill to transform America into a workers’ paradise: The Green New Deal for Public Housing Act.
Their New York socialist, Rep. Jamaal Bowman, said the bill is “a form of reparations for our historically marginalized communities.
AOC saw the bill in revolutionary terms, too.
“A different world is not only possible; a different world is arriving today,” AOC announced to enormous applause.
Knowing her views of the world, that doesn’t sound good, so The Horn News checked out her legislation—and it’s not.

A lot of “reparations” will be coming. The Green New Deal for Public Housing Act would spend $234 billion over the next 10 years, bringing the green revolution into the projects—and possibly moving the projects into your part of town.
The bill would rip out gas stoves and hot water heaters, and stick solar panels on top of every public housing unit in the country.
In their place, unionized work crews would install “photovoltaic glass windows” and “all-electric state-of-the-art efficient appliances” in public housing—and you’d see more of it, a lot more.
The bill would repeal the Faircloth Amendment, which limits the number of public housing project units to about 1.8 million
So, HUD will charge taxpayers to create these crime- and gang-dominated housing projects, which Joe Biden wants to move into the suburbs.
“It is unacceptable that we have not done more to transform our energy systems, our communities, and our infrastructure away from fossils and toward renewable energy,” said Bernie Sanders, a Democratic socialist who admired the Soviet Union.
AOC made it clear her real goal is to transform the Democratic Party, dragging the party even further to the Left from the inside.
“I want to send this message very clearly, not just to all of Congress, but including the leadership of the Democratic Party,” Ocasio-Cortez laid down the law to her party leadership. “There’s a lot of different things to address, social housing mortgages, interest rates, but any true housing policy must include a commitment to public housing point blank, period.”
A few Democrats got the message.
Rep. Dan Goldman, D-N.Y., said the country faces many environmental issues, and the “Green New Deal for Public Housing will address them head-on. We must invest in green public housing to create jobs & restore public housing to quality condition.”
Climate change & deteriorating public housing are among the defining issues of this century.@RepAOC & @SenSanders’ Green New Deal for Public Housing will address them head-on. We must invest in green public housing to create jobs & restore public housing to quality condition. https://t.co/3ASNBWH6J4

Bowman promised to hook up the greening of public housing with his “Green New Deal for Public Schools Act,” which he introduced in 2021 and reintroduced last September, to transform society beginning at kindergarten, or younger.
Bowman promised the word would go forth from that day, and the Left would mobilize “millions of people who haven’t been activated yet across the country.”
The rent is too damn high y'all.
It's time we pass transformative legislation like @RepAOC and @SenSanders' Green New Deal for Public Housing. Everyone deserves access to safe, clean, affordable housing without spending over 20% of their income on rent.

But so far, Joe Biden hasn’t endorsed the bill outright, trying to come up with a more palatable version before veering left if he’s reelected.
AOC has had to downgrade her original Green New Deal, which she introduced in 2019 to laughs and public scorn.
In addition to renovating every building in the country—not just public housing—the original Green New Deal would replace all air travel with trains, and dole out “free” healthcare and college tuition to all Americans—and illegal aliens.
AOC’s Green New Deal would cost between $51 million and $93 trillion over 10 years—and that was before Bidenflation. Even the original price tag would require the government to take almost 80 percent of your income.
AOC, who lives on your tax dollars, brushed off concerns that her socialist scheme would bankrupt you.
“The world is going to end in 12 years if we don’t address climate change,” Ocasio-Cortez lied in 2019, pushing the original version of her red-green legislation, “and your biggest issue is how are we gonna pay for it?”
Maybe Biden sees that her plans have gone nowhere. After the biggest build-up of any member of Congress in recent memory, AOC has been a complete bust.
Her Green New Deal went nowhere.
In 2020, she added a few members to The Squad…but they’re in deep trouble. Missouri Democrat Cori Bush is under investigation for misusing campaign finance funds. And Jamaal Bowman, who got caught pulling a fire alarm to hold up congressional proceedings, now faces a serious primary challenge.
Then, AOC tried to focus on New York City. In 2020, her friends at the Democratic Socialists of America churned out a 13-page strategy paper for turning the Big Apple socialist red…and they failed.
Ironically, AOC’s efforts got a small boost this week from the $1.2 trillion spending bill just introduced in the House, by its Republican leadership.
Rep, Marjorie Taylor Greene, R-Ga., pointed out the massive $1.2 trillion government funding “minibus” package spent funds for “taxpayer funded abortions, genital mutilation surgeries for kids, men beating down women in women’s sports, and more DEI and Green New Deal garbage.”

Maybe AOC should focus on radicalizing the Republican Party?
It’s self-hating enough to go along.
