Top Dem caught in dementia scandal (not Biden!)

The mental health of Sen. Dianne Feinstein, D-Calif., has been a question among conservative critics for years.

In fact, multiple members of Congress have been reported to be taking medication for Alzheimer’s and other issues for years.

On Thursday, liberal magazine The New Yorker wrote about Feinstein’s “noticeable cognitive decline” — and questioned whether she’s fit for office.

According to their report, Feinstein is “seriously struggling” to keep up with her day-to-day tasks. Her memory “has grown so poor that she often forgets she has been briefed on a topic, accusing her staff of failing to do so just after they have.”

Elected in 1992, the 87-year-old Feinstein is one of the examples critics point to when calling for term limits on lawmakers.

For example, during a Senate hearing in Nov. on social media bias, Feinstein grilled Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey — and couldn’t keep things straight.

Feinstein asked Dorsey about President Donald Trump and the 2020 election, quoting a Trump tweet on Nov. 7.

“She then asked Dorsey if Twitter’s labeling of the tweet as disputed had adequately alerted readers that it was a bald lie. … But this time, after Dorsey responded, Feinstein asked him the same question again, reading it word for word, along with the Trump tweet,” The New Yorker wrote.

“Her inflection was eerily identical. Feinstein looked and sounded just as authoritative, seemingly registering no awareness that she was repeating herself verbatim. Dorsey graciously answered the question all over again.”

Conservative radio host Rush Limbaugh said the growing criticism was proof that the “long knives” were out for Feinstein.

But Feinstein isn’t alone. For example, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s mental fitness has been questioned for years. The same with Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer.

Is this just the Democratic establishment pushing Feinstein out? Or are there serious concerns about the age of many senators?
