House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi is not happy with California Rep. Maxine Waters — and she’s letting Waters know about it.

Waters spent this weekend telling alt-left radicals to attack and harass Trump administration officials. The statement was so shocking, Waters’ harshest critics called her violent rhetoric a felony and have demanded Waters arrest.

Across the rest of America, voters in general were disgusted by Waters violent demands.

Pelosi got the message. Afraid that voter disgust with liberal violence will translate to a poor showing in the polls for her party in November, Pelosi pulled back on Waters’ leash Monday.

“In the crucial months ahead, we must strive to make America beautiful again,” Pelosi said regarding Waters’ calls for attack. “Trump’s daily lack of civility has provoked responses that are predictable but unacceptable. As we go forward, we must conduct elections in a way that achieves unity from sea to shining sea.”

That’s not a minor tongue lashing. Not in the highly sensitive political world of Washington, D.C., at least.

For Congress, a public rebuke of a member of your own party is the political equivalent to a slap in the face.

But Pelosi knows she can’t afford to lose another election.

Polls have started turning against her and the so-called “blue wave” she swore to deliver to Democrats, and her job is on the line.

Pelosi wasn’t the only Democratic leader that blasted Waters, either. Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer called Waters’ statement un-American.

“I strongly disagree with those who advocate harassing folks if they don’t agree with you. If you disagree with something or someone, stand up, make your voice heard. Explain why you think they’re wrong and why you’re right. Make the argument. Protest peacefully,” Schumer said. “If you disagree with a politician, organize your fellow citizens to action and vote them out of office. But no one should call for the harassment of political opponents. That’s not right. That’s not American.”

Across the political aisle, GOP leaders moved to officially punish Waters. In fact, Arizona Rep. Andy Biggs demanded Waters resign her office.
