Think the election is over, the votes have been tallied, and President-elect Donald Trump’s challenge by former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton is over?
Think again.
For Hillary supporters, the fight isn’t over.
They’re desperately working behind the scenes in “what can only be described as a coup attempt,” according to The Observer — and these Hillary backers are so devoted to the cause, they’re threatening death to anyone who gets in their way.
All across the country, campaigns have sprung up around the country to try to persuade members of the Electoral College to do something that has never been done in American history — deny the presidency to the clear Election Day winner.
Republican Party officials in Georgia, Idaho, Texas, and Michigan said their electors also have been bombarded with messages, and Arizona officials reported many of the messages were “hateful.”
“Now all the electors are starting to get beaten down. There are some electors who have been threatened with harm or with death,” local Dallas-Fort Worth station NBCDw reported.
Activists are circulating online petitions and using social media and threatening phone calls in hopes of influencing Republican electors to cast their ballots for someone other than President-elect Donald Trump and deprive him of the 270 Electoral College votes needed to become the next occupant of the White House.
And they’re gaining ground.
A record number of ‘faithless electors’ – Electoral College voters that refuse to cast their legally required ballot for their candidate – are expected.
“At least a half-dozen Democratic electors have signed onto an attempt to block Donald Trump from winning an Electoral College majority, an effort designed not only to deny Trump the presidency but also to undermine the legitimacy of the institution,” according to POLITICO.
They’ve even flipped at least one Republican electoral votes. Texas Republican Art Sisneros says he has reservations about the president-elect, and told The Associated Press he won’t vote for Trump despite being required to.
“As a Christian, I came to the conclusion that Mr. Trump is not biblically qualified for that office,” he said.
Sisneros signed a state party pledge to support the GOP’s standard-bearer, but that was before Trump was the official nominee.
Electors are chosen by party officials and are typically the party’s most loyal members. Presidential electors are not required to vote for a particular candidate under the Constitution. Even so, throughout American history more than 99 percent of electors have voted as pledged throughout the nation’s history.
Some state laws call for fines against “faithless electors,” while others open them to possible felony charges, although the National Archives says no elector has ever been prosecuted for failing to vote as pledged. In North Carolina, a faithless elector’s vote is canceled, and he or she must immediately resign and be replaced.
“Democratic elector Polly Baca… said the Electoral College should be returned to its original conception — as laid out by Alexander Hamilton in the Federalist Papers — as a deliberative body able to exercise free choice while using popular votes only as a guide,” POLITICO reported.
This isn’t fringe leftists, either. “A growing number of academics and activists are calling for US authorities to fully audit or recount the 2016 presidential election vote in key battleground states, in case the results could have been skewed by foreign hackers,” according to The Guardian.
High-minded liberal academics just can’t understand Clinton lost — so they want to seize power.

Actually, at 2:00 am Mountain Time, Trump was winning the popular vote by almost 2 million votes. That was after PA and OH were counted for Trump and the Presidency was called for Trump (by a serious margin). There were only 4 states left that didn’t call their votes yet, with the ONLY large one being MI. Trump was ahead by roughly 800,000 votes with the vast majority having been counted. There is NOT EVEN A SLIM CHANCE that Hillary won the popular vote (Trump won MI with popular votes as well by the way). Funny, Trump was ahead in the popular vote ALL NIGHT LONG, and he NEVER trailed to Hillary in the popular vote … all the way up until 2:00 am Mountain Time when the Presidency was called a win for Trump. This election cannot be changed as long as the electoral college was in place. When Gore won the popular vote and people said we should get rid of the electoral college, no one responded. This was their chance to change this. The popular vote should be the one to win but as long as the electoral college is in place, a revolution would ensue if this were to be changed after the election. People are so stupid and think they can do anything because in the last 8 years this country has lived lawless under Obuma (not misspelled). Only the poor were affected by the law and the rich and corrupt got away with it. There were many unethical things this president did and he will go down in history as the most corrupt president America has ever had.

You got your man elected. Not democratically, Hillary won the popular vote by, so far, 1.7 million votes, so you don’t have a mandate. The electoral college is a relic of slavery times when it was created, at a time when the founders of this country didn’t believe in true democracy. It is completely understandable that voters whose attempts to express their democratic intentions was subverted by this unfair system would try to bring about a true democratic result. It won’t work and is probably a waste of time, and when it resorts to harassing electoral college voters is counterproductive and will backfire.
But the problem remains. Trump’s ranting that the election will be rigged was true, but not by the Dems. The GOP has been doing everything in it’s power to rig the system with gerrymandering (legal, unfortunately) that the Dems allowed to happen until it was a done deal. And the continuous, despicable voter purging (of likely Democratic voters), unfair voter ID requirements, claiming to fix a problem that didn’t exist, but whose only real intention was to rig the system in their favor.
Trump was right about the effect of trade agreements, something that the Hillary didn’t address as effectively, but Bernie did. But he failed to mention that automation is the bigger cause of jobs being eliminated, and that the profits from eliminating those wages, yours and my wages, goes to the .01%, who’s self interest is not in being ‘job creators’, but in increasing their profits and taking those profits out of the economy, and stashing in offshore secret bank accounts. Did Trump address that issue?

The problem for Trump can be easily solved requestin to his AG or to a special commission for the integrity of democracy a wide and detailed investigation of the Die Bolt voting machines and on those that for every voter gives to every voter 1 vote plus a fraction. What happens with millions of fractions? I am sure that too many votes are fabricated when added on. Also the records of defunction must be matched with the voter lists to look at the dead voters that voted in absentia or post mortem. The elected government has the ability to squash this right now, just like they have had the ability to put a stop to these violent protesters. The question is why haven’t they? One can not profit from a crime – common law. Tally up the threatening emails and subtract them from the populous vote. Add to that, that the members of the electoral college have the same privilege that any Federal or State worker has and that it is a crime to coheres governmental employees, such could negate the vote in the electoral college as to the members ability to rationally change from the position that they where elected to put forth. This is in the same vain as if a question is asked of a defendant and the defendant does not answer in a civil proceeding, that assumed answer is a ‘no’. Hillary is just binding her fate to be a looser just as any mobster is a looser..

Post election is no time to attempt to change the Electoral College vote. If Americans aren’t happy with the “system”, start at the bottom; see if it can be explained well enough to get it on the ballot & vote on it. Trump is making some amazing appointments to his cabinet; backed down on some of his radical campaign proposals; obviously knows more about running a business than the loser. Just pray America can get behind him; be broad minded enough to look at some changes – and give our president-elect room to work on making America great again. It takes an amendment to the Constitution to get rid of the Electoral College. Two thirds of the congress to propose the amendment, and 75% of the states have to ratify it. They haven’t got the votes. And unless the republican electors give their votes to hillary, she still hasn’t got the required votes to win. The decision then goes to the congress to decide. They haven’t got the votes there either. Whatever shenanigans they try, hillary’s out.

Our most powerful weapon is prayer. Our country was founded upon a belief in God and I do believe He has given us another chance to get it right. The worst thing we could do would be to start a conflict. I believe many of those rioting are being encouraged to do so by the liberal left. A national riot would give Obama an excuse to bring on martial law (which I think is what he wants to do). Then we would never get rid of him.
When our country was started the reason for the electoral college was that if it were only by popular vote, the most heavily populated states would always win the election and the small states wouldn’t matter. This way gives all the states a stake in the election. Those who want only popular vote have obviously never studied American history and the founding of our country. We are an exceptional country…nothing like it ever…and we are close to losing it to a socialistic, one-world government that our president and liberals are encouraging.

When Obama won, I was disappointed but I didn’t go on marches, chant using profane language, etc. I accepted the fact that more liberals had voted than conservatives.
Isn’t making death threats to electors, especially with the intent of altering the outcome of an election, some sort of crime? Isn’t there some way to track down the people who are doing this, and put them in jail? This is pure terrorism.
