As Europe struggles to deal with a ballooning refugee crisis, intelligence officials are increasingly warning that many migrants are not who they claim to be.
According to the latest reports from Germany, officials say almost a third of all asylum seekers arriving in the country who claim to be Syrian are hiding their true identities. There have already been claims from ISIS militants that as many as 4,000 ISIS fighters have been snuck into Europe among the refugees.
Hundreds of thousands of people have come to Germany since the start of the year seeking refuge from war. Tobias Plate, a spokesman for Germany’s interior ministry, said Friday that it’s estimated that “30 percent of asylum seekers claiming to be Syrian in the end aren’t Syrian.”
According to a recent United Nations report on the migrant crisis, 69% of all these refugees are males, most at or near fighting age.
Meanwhile, the United States has recently announced it will accept 85,000 refugees from around the world next year, up from 70,000, and that total would rise to 100,000 in 2017.
U.S. lawmakers have expressed growing concerns about the potential influx.
The Islamic State group and other terrorist organizations “have made it abundantly clear that they will use the refugee crisis to try to enter the United States. Now the Obama administration wants to bring in an additional 10,000 Syrians without a concrete and foolproof plan to ensure that terrorists won’t be able to enter the country,” said U.S. Sen. Chuck Grassley, R-Iowa, and U.S. Rep. Bob Goodlatte, R-Va.
“The administration has essentially given the American people a ‘trust me.’ That isn’t good enough,” according to a statement from the lawmakers, who head the congressional judiciary committees.
Intelligence officials and Republican lawmakers have expressed concerns that Islamic State militants could seek to slip into Europe or the U.S. posing as migrants.
In 2011, two Kentucky residents who had been resettled as Iraqi refugees were accused of being al-Qaeda members. They were convicted of terrorism charges after their fingerprints were linked to roadside bombs in Iraq. That led to new steps to screen refugees, a process that has been criticized as slow and bureaucratic.
“Some of the 65,000 that came from Iraq actually were trying to buy stinger missiles in my hometown in Kentucky,” said U.S. Sen. Rand Paul of Kentucky, a Republican presidential candidate, in a broadcast interview. “So we do have to be wary of some of the threat that comes from mass migration.”

As a Swedish person I am very pleased to help out the traumatized people of the Middle East though my main concern is for the really poor,wounded and tired people who are left behind.Where is the planning to help them and the surrounding countries who have erected massive refugee camps which are draining their resources.
We also have problems with our care of the elderly,our health system,schooling and housing.It is a lovely idea to have an Open Door policy but how are we going to pay for it.How are we to weed out IS and adapt our infrastructure to take in all the asylum seekers?
Mostly,how are we to avoid World Ward III over Syria with Putin’s aggressive designs on the ME and the NATO countries’ lack of planning.

Seems that Inspector Clouseau and the other European spooks are uncovering facts about the poor, homeless, Syrian refugees, et al, that are unsettling, to say the least. However, it does guarantee that when the ISIS storm troopers do reveal themselves as storm troops and garden variety islamic terrorists, that all mercies will cease, and the ecstatic joy of rapidly eradicating these boys, en masse, will commence with typical European panache.
Had they asked me.a year or so ago, I could have told the spooks that this farce was not what it appeared to be, and that the overwhelming proportion of fighting age males to fems and young childrens crawling across their Southern beaches signaled that all was not going to be well in fools paradise.

Washington needs to pass a law that refugees accused of terrorism will face the death penalty and their appeals will be handled on an expedited basis. If you come to America to commit acts of terror you should understand that you will face death row. I would support carrying out the death penalty using the same tactics the guilty planned to use on their victims.
My first thought, when I saw the latest “refugees” on TV, was that these are the BEST-looking, BEST-dressed mob of refugees that I have ever seen! Who gave them all those nice clothes? And why did they leave all the mounds of clothing behind on the way to Hungary? Look at the TV map showing where they came from. They are not all from Syria. This is a Muslim INVASION. No need to fight, just walk on in.
How can people be so naiive? Are we all so stupid as to just welcome them in? They trashed the drinking water donated by the Red Cross. Why? Because there were crosses on the bottles. I’m glad to see that Hungary put up a barbed-wire fence. Let them walk to Russia or go to Saudi Arabia.
