President Barack Obama has a long list of broken promises he made to supporters — and we can officially add withdrawing from Afghanistan to that list.
The U.S. will slow the pace of its troop reduction in Afghanistan, leaving 8,400 troops there when President Barack Obama completes his term, Obama announced Wednesday in a blunt acknowledgment that America will remain entangled there despite his many promises to end the war.
In a statement at the White House, Obama said the security situation in Afghanistan remains “precarious” and the Taliban a threat roughly 15 years after the U.S. invaded in the aftermath of 9/11. He said he was committed not to allow terrorists to use Afghanistan “as a safe haven for terrorists to attack our nation again.”

In the 1990s a report circulated among government watch dog organizations suggested that the only way to fix the corruption in Washington DC is to NOT VOTE for someone already in office. It sends the strongest message possible. That is why you don’t get a receipt when you vote. That would leave a paper trail.

The Bush administration mistakenly believed that once they toppled the existing governments in those countries that the citizenry would embrace peace, prosperity and freedom. What no one considered is both countries are mired in Islam. The hard line Muslims worked to keep the countries places of oppression, misery, poverty and violence. Until the world faces the cruel reality of Islam nothing is going to change. Islam is a large part of the problem with all the countries in that part of the world.

Your article spoke mainly of broken promises. I would like to ask the question with the more obscure answer: Can anyone tell us about any promises he did NOT break? I’ve tried to think of one, and I can’t come up with even one. To my knowledge, I am not yet suffering from any age-related ‘brain drain’ and my memory is still good, except for being a little slower than it once was. It does seem that after 8 years, there should be some promise he followed through on….. and getting his daughters their dogs does not count as a Presidential accomplishment. It can only be credited to the “fatherly” column. He has done unprecedented harm to this country, and I pray there is some preventative in place to make sure he does bring 200,00 more Syrian Muslims into our country before he leaves the office!!.
