Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., hasn’t been a lawmaker for long, but she has already earned a reputation for telling other people how to do their jobs… and on Friday, she made a huge escalation.
The socialist superstar told Texas Gov. Greg Abbott to consider retiring.
“You do seem to be struggling at your job,” Ocasio-Cortez tweeted at Abbott, a two-term Republican up for re-election in November. “Maybe you should consider if this is the right work for you.”
Fox News ran a headline saying, “AOC suggests Texas Gov. Abbott should retire after transporting migrants to Washington DC.”
Ocasio-Cortez made the remark following Abbott’s decision to bus migrants to the Naval Observatory, the workplace of Vice President Kamala Harris in Washington, D.C.
“I remember how folks stepped up to help Texans when you left them cold and hungry during the freeze,” Ocasio-Cortez told Abbott, referring to last year’s ice storm in Texas. “We will welcome these families too. They have so much to offer.”
Ocasio-Cortez alienated some of her internet fans with this remark. Previously, she had accused Abbott of “crimes against humanity on refugees.”
Liberals wanted her to call for Abbott to be arrested, not just his retirement.
“Girl, he committed a crime,” one Twitter user told Ocasio-Cortez. “Look into this.”
Another Twitter user said, “What are YOU doing about it? Not who are you giving cash to, or what are you telling other government officials to do. What are YOU, PERSONALLY doing about this?”
Take a look —
I remember how folks stepped up to help Texans when you left them cold and hungry during the freeze.
We will welcome these families too. They have so much to offer.
You do seem to be struggling at your job, though. Maybe you should consider if this is the right work for you. https://t.co/DEwHdWwzi6

It’s appalling that far-right politicians seem to have decided that fall before an election is their regularly scheduled time to commit crimes against humanity on refugees.
Don’t normalize this. Lying to & trafficking people for TV and clicks isn’t politics as usual. It’s abuse.

Since joining Congress, Ocasio-Cortez has traveled to Texas for far-left political campaigns.
Earlier this year, she tweeted a video of herself dancing with Texas organizers. She faced criticism for her mask hypocrisy.
She has also meddled in Texas politics by endorsing immigration attorney Jessica Cisneros during his primary challenge against incumbent Democratic Rep. Henry Cuellar, D-Texas.
“This state will turn blue,” Ocasio-Cortez said at a campaign event in Texas earlier this year. “It will happen.”
Cisneros lost. Twice.
It seems Ocasio-Cortez is all hat, but no cattle.
