A Maine high school student says he was ridiculed by faculty members when he wore a red baseball cap bearing Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump’s campaign slogan.
South Portland High School student Connor Mullen says he expected students to taunt him when he started wearing the hat to school three weeks ago.
But the 16-year-old sophomore says he alerted school administrators on Friday when two adults who worked in the school made fun of him, including a teacher who allegedly said, “Thank God you can’t vote.”
He says an education technician took his hat, which reads “Make America Great Again,” and held it up in class.
Superintendent Ken Kunin tells The Portland Press Herald that administrators followed up with the two staff members.
Mullen says he’ll continue to wear the hat.

This is the smartest student in their school!!!
One time the situation ended the way it should have. (I remember when I was a juvenile. The more you told me not to do something, the more apt I was to try it just for spite.)
liberals love free speech…….but only when they do the talking
Too true.
I guess the administrators in Maine have the common sense of door knobs, similar to the rest of the libtards who cant think for themselves and love to be led by criminals! Go TRUMP 2016!!!!!!!
Unfortunatley just telling those commie teachers to desist is not enough. If it was turned around and the student would have had an Obama or Hillary hat the ignorant teachers would have hailed him as a smart student. Those people should have been suspended for at least a month without pay.
FOREVER.
i agree, Rolland. High school teachers/employees need to respect every American’s right to free speech, instead of behaving like petty tyrants and bullies. The way to stop bullying is to confront every bully with overwhelming negative public opinion or actual beating the hell out of them, IMO. Anything less than a show of strength far superior to that of the bully will simply result in MORE bullying, so some kind of serious penalty like you suggest – a month’s suspension w/o pay – would certainly be warranted.
But i’m thinkin’ a “Hillary for Prison” hat or T-shirt might get similar treatment, too.
teachers are supposed to teach students ,not bully them, who gives them the right to make light of this young americans right to free thinking and free speech- those teachers are not as smart as that young man who looks ahead to a government of the people again ,not the money hungry jerks that are killing our country I am PROUD OF THE YOUNG MAN FOR STANDING UP FOR WHAT HE BELEIVES IS BEST FOR HIS COUNTRY,
They should be banned from the education system for life. This communist infiltration has got to stop.
Teacher and (especially) principals should have kept quiet concerning their opinions. They overstepped their boundaries!
it just sad to say or wear something and you are getting attack on expressing yourself it goes to should you who the child is looks like the adult is the child.
The two teachers need to be made to apologize to the young man in front of the whole school since they are suppose to be adults it time they are made to act like it or it looks like the school condones bullying the school needs to take care of this so these two teachers don’t harrass anyone one else!
Su-
Yes, publicly shaming and humiliating bullies is also an effective means for curtailing the practice; the principal of the school should either call a Special Assembly or make this apology a part of the next regularly scheduled one.
i would wear a HILLARY AND O’TURD FOR PRISON
