Is former first lady Michelle Obama on a subtle “revenge” tour against her husband Barack?
After dodging rumors of divorce and diving into the deep secrets of her marriage on her new podcast, Michelle Obama now claims she’s “glad” she didn’t have a child with Barack.
In the latest episode of “IMO,” the podcast Michell hosts with her brother Craig Robinson, she says was “glad” she didn’t have a son because he would have turned out exactly like her husband.
During a conversation with Hot 97 radio personality Angie Martinez, she suggested that Michelle “should have threw a boy in the mix.”
“I’m so glad I didn’t have a boy,” Michelle Obama stated.
“Because he would have been a Barack Obama. Ooh,” Obama said, looking down and shaking her head.
“Baby Barack! It would have been amazing,” Martinez enthusiastically countered.
“No, I woulda felt for him,” Obama said.
The telling comment from the mother of two girls came as the podcast episode focused on parenting male children as Martinez has one son and Robinson has three boys.
During the episode, Michelle Obama even pointed to a potential preoccupation with her 32-year marriage to the former president — which many have speculated is on the rocks.
“Teach [your son] about how to deal with the traffic stop, but also teach him how to communicate in a marriage and to be a listening father,” Obama said before scoffing at the idea of having a baby Barack.
Despite the possibly unintentional barb towards Barack, Michelle did praise him for his parenting just last week in an interview with Bruce Springsteen.
“I think Barack is just like you as a tremendous father, doing it in a lot of grandeur, right,” Obama told Springsteen on the June 11 “IMO.”
As rumors of the couple’s divorce swirled, the Obamas went on a high-visibility date in Midtown Manhattan at the swanky Lowell Hotel restaurant last month and were seen cozying up on another restaurant date in Washington, DC, in April.
However, Michelle Obama revealed that she is currently in therapy and is “transitioning” to a different phase of her life.
