In the latest of a string of disgusting attacks on our nation’s heroes, a police officer in Tacoma, Washington was shot multiple times while answering a domestic violence call Wednesday. The officer has not been identified.

But justice has been served.

The suspect in the fatal shooting has been shot and killed by police after a lengthy barricade situation, authorities said early Thursday.

Pierce County Sheriff’s Department spokesman Ed Troyer says the suspect was shot at approximately 3:30 a.m. Thursday, ending an 11-hour standoff. The suspect has not been identified.

Troyer said the suspect refused to surrender during negotiations with officials, and that the cowardly madman was using two children as human shields.

Troyer says a girl and a boy, found unharmed, were taken from the house. He said multiple weapons were found in the house.

Earlier, the neighborhood had been locked down while officers from multiple agencies worked to bring about a peaceful resolution.

Hospital and law enforcement workers stand at an entrance to Tacoma General Hospital in Tacoma, Wash., as they wait for the body of a Tacoma Police officer who was shot and killed while answering a domestic violence call Wednesday, Nov. 30, 2016, to be removed from the hospital in a procession, in Tacoma, Wash. Tacoma Police spokeswoman Loretta Cool said the officer was pronounced dead at the hospital Wednesday evening. "We've suffered a great loss and I think the community has suffered a great loss. I don't know how to put that into words," Cool said. (AP Photo/Ted S. Warren)

Tacoma Police spokeswoman Loretta Cool said the wounded officer was pronounced dead at the hospital after nightfall.

“We’ve suffered a great loss and I think the community has suffered a great loss. I don’t know how to put that into words,” Cool said.

After the death of the officer, a procession of law enforcement officers from around the region escorted the body from the hospital to the county medical examiner’s office.

Cool said police responded to the home Wednesday afternoon in the 400 block of East 52nd Street and that shortly after arriving, officers called for backup.

Reacting to shots fired, arriving officers entered the home and managed to get the wounded officer outside and to a hospital, Cool said. She had said the officer had been undergoing surgery before the death was announced.

It wasn’t immediately clear what led up to the shooting.

In a statement, Washington Gov. Jay Inslee said he and his wife Trudi were sending their thoughts and prayers to the family and loved ones of the officer.

“All of Washington grieves with Tacoma, which tonight lost one of their finest. Our hearts are with the men and women of the Tacoma Police Department, their families, and their brothers and sisters in law enforcement across Washington.”

Any member of law enforcement that is killed by any gunman should be hanged. Yes, hanged publicly. A trial for any killing of this nature should be expedited; held in two weeks of this cowardly act, and if guilty, hanged. No more of trials that last for years. Also reparation must be paid by the family of the shooter to those left behind.

I agree, and I further believe it is now time to declare war on all those who would harm a police officer. Any suspicious call for police should be met with overwhelming force. And no police officer should be allowed to answer a call alone.

It appears that the police are truly unaware of the threat they face. They really need to be on guard and aware at all times so they rid the world of these worthless persons!

I agree, I also think Obama and the Communist Progressive Democrats are behind these Murders. They have supported Black Lies Don’t Matter. These people need to be a designated Terror Party and start Arresting them for Treason

I also agree with the hangings, For Lying Obama he needs to be on trial for Treason and Prosecuted to the fullest extent of the Law. And that means possible Life in Prison. Which should Happen. These Police are getting killed for what he has said and done.

I understand what you really mean by your first statement, although it is not the way you meant to write it. I am very much a believer in Capital Punishment, a gun owner, and promoter of the police. The reason we have not descended into anarchy many times in our country, is because of our belief in the rule of law. I believe the Constitution, if followed, would bring justice to the animal who kills a police officer. Those who try to claim the rules are not meant for them (yes BLM, you’re included) create a very dangerous situation for us all. I personally, would find public executions offensive to me. Certainly they would provide more fame to the perpetrator of the crime. I am hardly a “snowflake”, but recognize my many nightmares as a child from the headlines and pictures of the executions of Julius and Ethel Rosenberg. The public executions of the mid-East (Saddam Hussein) do nothing to deter crime, other than those of the perpetrator. They can inspire the “off balance” to seek the kind of notoriety, they produce.(Hinckley) I know that no matter how heinous the crime, everyone who has pulled a trigger “to stop a beating heart” (American Sniper) has felt something other than recoil of the weapon. If not, you need counseling worse than one who does have feelings.

      • JG says

        December 1, 2016 at 2:52 pm

Kilary and Obama have done much worse to our country than the Rosenbergs. Yes, I reember listening to the execution on the radio.

      • Frank says

        December 2, 2016 at 11:03 am

They SHOULD BE PUBLIC! When someone chooses to be a traitor or murder an innocent human being they forfeit their own life! The reason we have this mess now is because of molly coddling vile criminals and if executions were still public like they should be it would give future violent criminals something to think about before they perpetrate a heinous crime! Pussified liberals are responsible for the entire anarchy we see going on now!

        • Frank says

          December 2, 2016 at 11:08 am

Let me add that if responsible parents didn’t want their children to see executions they have the right to deny their kids seeing them but when they’re older should encourage them to watch and explain to them that this is what happens when you arbitrarily decide to play God and affect the lives of other innocent people!

    • Dagonet says

      December 1, 2016 at 1:43 pm

And any officer who commits a crime or “develops” probable cause should be castrated and imprisoned. Read Police Encounters Know Your Rights by Lejacque D Gillespi. Or talk to my own brother who retired after 30 years as a state trooper. Ever notice how cops inform people of their rights only AFTER they arrest them? When they pull you over and you roll your window down, think about WHY they ask you to roll it all the way down. Think about why they ask you to step out of the car or why they ask “do you know why I pulled you over?”. Do you know what cops are trained to do whenever they face opposition from a “suspect”? Do you know why they ask you if you have any weapons (on you)? Do you know why they use the word “weapon”? Forget it, don’t think about it, find out the truth! Don’t be afraid, go ahead and ask these questions of the next cop you see on patrol. Watch how they react, listen to what they say and DON’T say. How would you expect them to react or say, think of this before even approach them. Why are there good cops and bad cops, shouldn’t they ALL be good cops? Good or bad, people should get what they deserve.

I think what you meant is this; any gunman who kills a member of law enforcement should be hanged. From the way you wrote it reads the opposite plus hanging the officer after death. Not being the corrector I just want to make sure this is what you meant.

I’ve always thought…since these crimes are mostly crimes for profit, that the criminals should face restitution, and if they are on public welfare, or some other form of public assistance, then those monies should be re-directed to the families of the victims, for the duration. My thinking here is that if the thugs have to chance putting real financial hardship on their own families, not just the families of their victims, they might think twice. And perhaps, the families of these predators might be incentivized to pay a little more attention to where Junior goes, and what he does.

One other thing SHOULD happen to any of these homicidal lunatics who have the chutzpah to murder any of our law enforcement, firefighters, or medical responders. It should be the end result that whatever fool commits this kind of monstrous act that the perpetrator DOES, AS QUICKLY AS POSSIBLE, BECOME an incarcerated person who would find themselves becoming a quote, unquote “prisoner of love” until they finally decided to take the cowardly way out and commit suicide in some fashion. I struggle mightily in trying to find ANY kind of sympathy for these kinds of homicidal lunatics.

I wouldn’t put the responsibility of the insane SHMUCK’S actions upon their family. Let the bastard PAY FOR THEIR OWN CRIMES. We SIMPLY MUST find a better way to instill in our citizens a lasting respect for the truly courageous men and women who lay their lives on the line EVERY DAMNED DAY OF THEIR PROFESSIONAL LIVES. There is NO EXCUSE WHATSOEVER for ANYONE harming any of our law enforcement, military, and medical personnel. NONE!!!

This has been caused by oboma and his corrupt DOJ. They have tied the police depts. hands behind their back and made them feel if they do the job as it should be and was until 8 sad years ago it’s them that will be punished. Only during this administration could a sheriffs dept be fined for not hiring illegals. The dept is the criminal and the criminal is not. If you shoot at a cop you die. simple as that. If you hit a cop it’s jail time. Time to start supporting ans backing those who are watching out for us.

Let’s not just reserve capitol punishment for the killing of police officers, their lives are no more precious than others. If a gunman kills anyone in cold blood end his life quickly. If that was done enough times it would put an end to the taking of an innocent life, there would be no killers left. Let’s hear it for capitol punishment, here, here…

      • Frank says

        December 2, 2016 at 11:17 am

Lee Walker you’re right on target buddy! It shouldn’t take feeding and housing the offenders for twenty years before executing them and life without parole should be abolished! Execute them quickly and let would be murderers have something to think about before they perpetrate a violent crime and not just for murdering cops and first responders but for all who choose to play God and take innocent lives! Law abiding citizens lives matter as much as anyone elses does!

The voters spoke and rejected the democrats vision for America and now it’s time for the entire communist socialist democrat party and their failed legacy to fade away into history! Hopefully after the Don is sworn in, he’ll unleash his DOJ to investigate and publicly expose all the harm those in power for the last eight years have committed and prosecute them for their treasonous actions to the fullest extent!

God Bless the officer and his family!! At a time like this it is hard to find words!! What is happening to our officers and first responders has got to stop!! This current administration seems to condone this type violence and other than to criticize law enforcement only seems to encourage the law breaker!!

Hopefully when the POS in the white house and head of the DOJ is out of power something will be done to deter this type of crime. When you have a president that agrees with these murders and a A…Hole like Loretta Lynch in the DOJ nothing will ever be done or condemned. I just hope these two have a need for law enforcement in the future and the police take their time responding to their call.

  9. Yadja says

    December 1, 2016 at 12:29 pm

This has become a common happening across our country daily wonder why? Thank you O and Lynch for all the lawlessness you agree to and don’t do anything about and actually encourage. Will be so happy to see Law and Order restored and all of you out and who knows, with a Real President, a Real AG and an honest DOJ you might find yourselves in some hot water hope it is boiling hot.

Just learned the other day Lynch fining people across the country who are keeping our immigration laws and doing what is right. See how crazy this all has become people? Thank God for Trump. Imagine if Hillary got in where we would be headed. Enjoy while you can BLM and all the rioters and Soros who pays for it there are laws concerning inciting riots and they will be coming for you.

My thoughts and prayers for all of the families of our nations fallen officers. You can not declare war on law enforcement because of the bad apples among them, when someone goes out of their way to deliberately target an officer it is a hate crime. Why no details on the race of the shooter? If this turns out to be another Black Lives Matter supporter, the word should be put out that if their free speech (more like liberal propaganda) leads to the death or serious injury of law enforcement that they will be held liable for inciting violence. Since war has been declared against law enforcement all individuals and groups calling for it should be put into FEMA camps until they can have their day in court. If they have no problem taking the life of someone sworn to uphold the Constitution and state laws then they will have no problem killing anyone else.

Anyone harming law enforcers, ems, firemen, medical personal, teachers, should have life in prison. If their actions cause the death of the attacked person, punishment should be expedited to public execution by electric chair, hanging, or 7 man firing squad.
Tickets could be sold for pay for view , monies going toward expenses caused by criminals.
I like what the president of the Philippines is doing, death to drug pushers. About 4,000 since July! That certainly take a care of repeat offenders! We must do something serious to rid us of such criminal behavior. This time out and smack on the hand has to end.

To ALL of the posters you are ALL 100% correct, but, each officer, has this obligation, that was/is to himself! Next, the communities that hire these men and women……have a DUTY to protect them as, they protect the community, how can that be done, NEVER again a one man/woman UNIT, never again, as a Police officer I was a one man unit, but when I left to become a Deputy Sheriff, there were NO one man units and this was back in the 1970’s, and we NEVER rolled up on a situation with out another unit enroute or was turning the corner. Sure, some town’s or county’s say, they don’t have the money, well the question is WHY NOT?. Those statements are not totally true!!!. But in the mean time, kill a member of law enforcement, fire departments, ems, or ANY agencies that provide public assistance, the people that HARM these folks, need to pay a HIGH price, and be it swift, NO DEALS, no breaks…….”screw up—–pay up” and it will or should be with out color, with out race, with out sexual orientation……..”screw up——pay up”!

  20. Olivia says

    December 2, 2016 at 1:39 pm

I realize from your comments that many of you have had different experiences with police encounters. Don’t forget, the very foundation of policing the black community has its roots in slavery times when the finding, rounding up and returning of slaves, (who managed to escape the south), was enforced by the northern states. Our modern day police forces across the country have evolved from that very practice. Subsequent laws and policies have continuously built on the bigotry, prejudice and sustained hatred and injustice which unfairly targeted the slaves and now, subsequently, their black descendants. There is no denying that! Police are suppose to protect and serve, not shoot first and cover up later. Police brutality and police violence is very real in this country, and almost all of the time, they can get away with murder. However it is not OK to kill cops either!
Seriously though, haven’t we had enough killing and violence against each other, our communities and police officers? But something is desperately wrong with this dynamic, and it’s about time to find a solution that is a win-win for both the cops and the communities they police. Innocent citizens are not suppose to die at the hands of police officers because of minor traffic incidents, or because they are in police custody, but they do. Native Americans should not be pepper sprayed or water hosed or shot with rubber bullets by law enforcement for protesting their concern over their clean drinking water, but they are. Whether folks want to admit it or not, I believe police have been targeted because of their sometimes brutal nature and unprovoked violence they have perpetrated on the public and it’s a real shame. Karma is a bitch. Some of the unfortunate officers killed have been as innocent as some of the people their colleagues have killed. Police are public servants, and when called upon, should not be in the business of harassing or killing law abiding citizens. Law enforcement should not be utilized in this way, but too often there appears to be no effort to address, or reign in their abuses of power. If the community can not trust the police to save their lives instead of taking them, then perhaps their role of police in that community should be decreased. My life is as valuable and as important as any other life, including police officers and first respondents. And every life is important to someone, as it should be. Please know that public hangings or public executions will not make us feel any safer or happier. Fear, hatred and violence only serve to make us more fearful, more hateful and more violent. I know we Americans are always ready for a fight, but let’s challenge ourselves to come up with a more peaceful method to change this ugly narrative of police violence, and violence against police to a more compatible and 21st century approach to law enforcement.
