Immigrants, their advocates and others opposing a Donald Trump presidency continued to protest Sunday, speaking out against the president-elect’s support of deportation and other measures.
Organizers in Manhattan carried signs in English and Spanish saying things like “Hate won’t make us great,” and chanted, “We are here to stay.”
More than 1,000 people joined the march that started mid-afternoon and extended into the evening.
It was the latest in days of demonstrations across the country, and even throughout the world. Protests were held Sunday in Los Angeles, San Francisco, Philadelphia and more cities.
Several hundred protesters Sunday marched around Philadelphia’s City Hall and then down Market Street to Independence Mall, carrying signs and chanting “Donald Trump has got to go!” and “This is what democracy looks like.”
In Los Angeles, a few hundred people gathered outside CNN’s Los Angeles headquarters, and in San Francisco, hundreds of people, including many families with children, marched from Golden Gate Park to Ocean Beach chanting “Love trumps hate!” By nightfall, a few hundred people marched across downtown San Francisco’s main street, blocking traffic at an intersection when they held a sit-down protest.
Elsewhere in California, about 800 people marched through Sacramento and thousands others formed a human chain around the nearly 3.5-mile perimeter of Oakland’s Lake Merritt. Rallies in Oakland have at times become unruly, but those who came to the lake held hands and chanted, “We reject the president-elect.”
In Oregon, protesters marched through Portland again Sunday night following a gathering of anti-Trump demonstrators earlier in the evening. Television footage showed dozens of chanting but peaceful marchers moving through downtown streets. Sunday night’s protest came after police said they arrested 71 people late Saturday and early Sunday during downtown protests.
Demonstrations also took place internationally. On Saturday, a group of Mexicans at statue representing independence in Mexico City expressed their concerns about a possible wave of deportations. One school teacher said it would add to the “unrest” that’s already in Mexico. About 300 people protested Trump’s election as the next American president outside the U.S. Embassy near the landmark Brandenburg Gate in Berlin.
In Portland, Oregon, a man was shot and wounded Saturday morning during a confrontation. Police arrested two teenagers in the shooting.

Rule of Law has not been enforced to protect our borders during the Obamanation administration. The socialist liberals supporting these actions are at best brain dead. Your exclusion is ambiguous, ” undocumented people had not broken the laws”. They all broke U.S. federal law, when they put their feet on U.S. soil. Therefore, they all will face deportation, no exception’s. Just stop the public assistance, housing and green card’s, they will leave!

He was talking about illegals and how does Obama bring Muslims here when he didn’t take care of the people in this country. More than half of the country is out of work. Those of us that do can only bear so much of the load before something gives out. Trump was our way out of the racism that Obama, Soros , BLM and Hillary incited. It was our way of uniting and caring for our own that’s so badly needed. It’s a way to build our military back up so we can defend ourselves from those who want to destroy us. It’s a way to weed out the dead heads in Washington that don’t do their jobs and keep taking the money. It’s hopefully a way to get medical care again. We lost ours because of Obama care and then we we’re fined because we couldn’t afford it. What hurts the worst was our disabled daughter lost hers because she was on our policy. Her age doesn’t permit us to cover her and Obama care turned her down. Hillary would have meant 4 more years of Obama drama and disappointments to the middle class.
The protestors are illegals and their relatives, friends, professional agitators and some morons. They all need to go back to Mexico eat their beans and rice and shut the hell up. Don’t break the law, wait in line like people all over the world.

If the protesters are illegal immigrants and they commit a felony while protesting, the answer is simple. After they have served their sentences, deport them.

The only hate speech I see is coming from the protesters themselves not Trump. What the liberals are really afraid of is if Trump succeeds they will have a steady decline in numbers to promote their liberal agenda. Just enforce the ‘worker verification’ system (that’s already in place), strictly enforce any violation by Americans who hire illegals, remove (and prosecute) ‘sanctuary cities’, remove all benefits for illegals (including welfare, foodstamps, free tuition, driver’s licenses, etc.) and end birthright citizenship and the problem will probably solve itself; they’ll have to leave, there will be nothing left to support them being here. The media is helping by filming these law breakers to be exported first and because they are breaking the law they will not be coming back. The more they complain the easier it is to ID them. As far as the families go, kick them out too for braking the law if possible, if not then just lock them up so they can no longer harbor law breakers. No mercy for the free-loaders and criminals, some mercy for the hard working elderly, mercy for those that have been here for 25 plus years and have been good decent people among us for all that time. Those that get caught returning after being deported get lined up and shot as foreign spies.
