Rep. Maxine Waters, D-Calif., didn’t get as warm a welcome as she has come to expect Sunday on MSNBC.
Heading into the second impeachment trial of former President Donald Trump, Waters’ own words have come back to haunt her — and video of an apparent impeachable offense has gone viral.

Waters voted to impeach Trump a second time for using inflammatory rhetoric. But when confronted with her prior statements against the very same Trump administration, Waters denied ever having called for violence.
“As a matter of fact, if you look at the words that I used, the strongest thing I said was tell them they’re not welcome,” Waters told MSNBC’s Ali Velshi after he asked if she’d “encouraged” violence.
“Talk to them,” she claims she told a crowd. “Tell them they’re not welcome. I didn’t say go and fight. I didn’t say anybody was going to have any violence.”
“So, they can’t make that statement.”
But in reality, the video showed otherwise.
Unfortunately for Waters, there is a tape of her exact statement in 2018. Waters tells an angry crowd to confront and “push back on” anyone from the Trump administration if they’re seen in public.
“Let’s make sure we show up wherever we have to show up, and if you see anybody from that Cabinet in a restaurant, in a department store, at a gasoline station, you get out, and you create a crowd, and you push back on them!” she is shown shouting in a video.

“You tell them that they’re not welcome anymore anywhere! We’ve got to get the children connected to their parents. The children are suffering.”

When asked if her comments were any different than Trump’s statements before the Jan. 6th Capitol riot, Waters said it’s different because Trump tried to “destroy our democracy.”

“Nothing any Democrat that I know of has ever said or acted in the way the president of the United States has acted. People must realize this president was out to destroy our democracy if he could not be president,” she lied.
“He sent those people, those domestic terrorists, to the Capitol to take over the Capitol. Even they are saying so,” she continued. “They’re saying they were invited by the president. The president was rallying them right before they went. He told them to be tough. He told them to take back their government.”
We want to hear from you.
If Trump was impeached for inflammatory rhetoric, should the same thing happen to Maxine Waters?
Or is she innocent?
