A man sprayed a mystery substance on Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) during a Tuesday town hall in Minneapolis.
Video captured members of the crowd yelling that a man “sprayed her” with a syringe-like device as staff and security quickly swooped in to tackle and subdue the attacker.
During the speech, Omar was delivering remarks critical of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and demanded that Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem step down.
Suddenly a man was seen rushing towards her, spraying the unknown substance while shouting.
Security immediately detained the individual and led him out in handcuffs as staffers urged Omar to step aside.

Authorities reported that Omar was not hurt.
Despite Omar’s aides pleading with the lawmaker to end her speech, she refused to leave the stage and urged everyone in attendance to stay.
Omar continued speaking for about 25 more minutes after the man was ushered out by security, saying she would not be intimidated.
“Please don’t let them have the show,” Omar could be heard saying after she was hit with the spray.
“We will continue! These f—-ing a–holes are not going to get away with this.”
“Here is the reality that people like this ugly man don’t understand,” Omar said as she returned to the microphone. “We are Minnesota strong, and we will stay resilient in the face of whatever they might throw at us.”
Police identified Omar’s attacker as 55-year-old Anthony Kazmierczak, who was arrested and held in Hennepin County Jail on a third-degree assault charge, records show.
According to a New York Post report, Kazmierczak had hinted in a cryptic text to a neighbor that he “might get arrested” at the event.
Kazmierczak’s neighbor Brian Kelley recalled that Kazmierczak asked if Kelley could watch his dog when he went to see Omar speak — and hinted that something would happen at the event.
“He said, ‘I’m going to this Omar thing.’ I’m like, Omar what? He said, ‘This town hall thing.’ And he said, ‘I might get arrested,’” Kelley told The Post.
“I figured it was nonsense. He wasn’t going to do anything stupid. I said, ‘Sure, I’ll walk her.’ But then the next day he said, ‘Don’t worry about it, I’ve got it covered.’ I figured he blew that off.”
Kelley described Kazmierczak, who shared photos supporting President Trump on Facebook, as a “pretty conservative guy” who “doesn’t like Omar.”
“He doesn’t say much about stuff, but he’ll send articles and posts about different things,” the neighbor said to The Post.
The attack directed at Omar comes as Minnesota continues to be consumed with protests and outbreaks of violence triggered by the deaths of Alex Pretti and Renee Good.
Top Democratic officials, including Gov. Tim Walz and Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey, have called on federal immigration agencies to pull back entirely from the state.
The attack also comes just hours after a bombshell report discovered that Omar’s latest federal financial disclosures show millions of dollars in assets tied to her husband’s businesses, representing a massive increase compared to previous years’ listings.
Police have yet to determine what exactly the spray was.
