While heading to a Democratic fundraiser in support of besieged New Jersey Sen. Bob Menedez, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton was involved in a car accident.
Hillary appears to have been unharmed when the Secret Service vehicle she was riding in was involved in a crash.
If the vehicle involved seems familiar, it’s because the van became mildly famous when Hillary was pushed inside it after fainting during the 2016 presidential campaign.
According to Time Magazine, the van is nicknamed “the Scooby van” because Hillary compared it to the “Mystery Machine, the vehicle used by the main characters in the classic ‘Scooby Doo’ cartoons.”
The 2016 Democratic presidential candidate was headed to a fundraiser for Menendez of New Jersey in Jersey City on Tuesday night. The vehicle pulled into a parking garage, made a left turn and hit a concrete crossbeam.
Clinton and her right-hand aide Huma Abide emerged from the van and walked to the fundraiser, where she was the featured guest.
The Secret Service says no injuries were reported, and the Jersey City Police Department is investigating.
In its accident report, police say the driver told them she drove into the garage and struck a concrete crossbeam that was not marked with its height.
All passengers refused medical attention.
