Fox News Channel’s decision to suddenly fire their most popular host, Tucker Carlson, has had a huge, negative impact on the channel’s ratings.
Carlson was the undisputed king of cable news for years. Fox News has lost almost half their viewers after his unexpected ouster.
A stunning new poll shows those viewers may never come back — a total victory for Carlson, who has hinted at plans to “torch” the network as revenge.
Change Research released a poll Friday that shows Carlson has 62 points more net favorability rating with Republicans than Fox News.
In a poll of 404 likely Republican primary voters, Change Research asked “How favorable are your feelings” towards Fox News.
Only 34 percent of those polled said favorable. Of that, just eight percent said “very favorable.” 23 percent answered “somewhat favorable.” Meanwhile, 37 percent said they had unfavorable feelings towards the network — 23 percent “very unfavorable” and 14 percent “somewhat unfavorable.”
In other words, Fox News currently has a net favorability rating among strong Republican voters of -4.
Carlson had the last laugh. His favorability ratings were through the roof; 49 percent were “very favorable,” 21 percent said “somewhat favorable,” while only 11 percent total had unfavorable feelings towards the conservative news star.
Devastating.
