President Donald Trump’s administration has been struggling with Democrat resistance to secure the U.S. southern border. So the White House has come up with a clever plan to help deter illegals from even bothering to head to the U.S. border.
U.S. Border Patrol is going to start DNA testing asylum seekers to make sure they’re all part of a real family unit — not human traffickers.
Lies won’t cut it if the system turns out to be a success, and is fully implemented. Illegal immigrants would need to get a cheek swab to prove they’re parents to the children with them — and if not, they’re heading to jail.
Border patrol statistics show approximately 10 percent of all asylum seekers that claim to be family units are lying. That figure may be low: currently, the border patrol only uses interrogations to determine who are authentic asylum seekers and who are human traffickers.
With a DNA test, the agents will know in minutes. That will free up thousands of man-hours to help these overworked and overwhelmed agents.
It will also deter would-be human traffickers from even trying to cross illegally — because no amount of lying or cajoling will get them past the border.
“The DNA tests will focus on identifying parent-child relationships, not other familial links like uncle-child,” Breitbart reported. “The DHS official said the new program will determine whether the use of Rapid DNA — a two-hour procedure in which a cheek swab is processed in a portable DNA analysis instrument — on the border is feasible and affordable.”
