Trump lawyer drops election bombshell (not everyone is happy)

Two lawyers filing lawsuits trying to overturn the current election results in several battleground states dropped a bombshell in Georgia on Wednesday — and not everyone is happy.

Attorneys Lin Wood and Sidney Powell, both pro-President Donald Trump lawyers, held a press conference in Atlanta where they urged voters in both parties to boycott the upcoming Senate runoff until the state discontinues the use of Dominion voting machines.

Powell and Wood claim to have uncovered proof that there was an international conspiracy to rig the 2020 election against Trump. Trump’s own legal team, led by former New York City Rudy Giuliani, has repeatedly lost their court cases.

Giuliani hasn’t submitted the evidence Powell and Wood have claimed to have uncovered in the court of law, frustrating some Trump voters.

Wood and Powell, however, have submitted their alleged evidence in Georgia, Michigan, Arizona, and Pennslyvania courts. Experts consider their filings longshot bids, which the two lawyers seemed to acknowledge. So Wood and Powell both demanded establishment Republicans back their efforts… or else.

“I would encourage all Georgians to make it known that you will not vote at all until your vote is secure — and I mean that regardless of party,” Powell said.

“We can’t live in a republic… a free republic unless we know our votes are legal and secure. So we must have voter ID and we probably must go back to paper ballots that are signed and have your thumbprint on them. We certainly should be able to find a system that can count them, even if it has to be done by hand.”

“This is Georgia, we ain’t dumb. We’re not going to go vote on January 5th on another machine made by China. You’re not going to fool Georgians again,” Wood said.

“If Kelly Loeffler wants your vote, if David Perdue wants your vote, they’ve got to earn it,” he continued. “They’ve got to demand publicly, repeatedly, consistently: Brian Kemp, call a special session of the Georgia State Legislature. And if they do not do it … they have not earned your vote!”

Not everyone in the Republican Party establishment was happy with their message calling for an election boycott.

In fact, conservative news website Breitbart, run by former White House aide Steve Bannon, went so far as to accuse Wood of being a “secret Democrat” and “MAGA poseur” that is secretly conspiring against Trump in a series of articles Wednesday.

“While Wood made his comments purportedly as a self-described supporter of Trump, while donning a red ‘Make America Great Again’ ball cap, the real story here is that Wood is by no means a Republican and there is no record in Georgia of him ever voting for President Trump –in 2016 or in 2020 — in the Republican primaries,” Breitbart’s Matthew Boyle wrote in a scathing response.

Boyle also claimed that Wood has repeatedly voted by absentee ballot in the state… likely for Democrats.

“While Wood did vote in the 2020 and 2016 general elections in Georgia — there are no records in Georgia of him pulling a GOP primary ballot in 2016 or 2020, the two years President Trump was on the ticket. Ironically, in both the 2020 and 2016 general elections, state records show that Wood voted absentee — by mail — in Georgia, part of the same system he is now railing against.”

The Breitbart editor even accused Wood of voting for Obama and donating to various Democratic Party candidates for decades, and said Woods claims were conspiracy theories were all secretly meant to undermine the Republican Party.

“Wood has long supported Democrats in the state of Georgia, and now with U.S. Senate hanging in the balance he has positioned himself as a leading voice of the MAGA movement,” Boyle wrote.

What are your thoughts?

Is Breitbart right, and these pro-Trump attorneys are just conspiracy theorists?

Or do you believe Wood and Powell that the election was rigged by an international plot against Trump?
