If a presidential race is the political version of a 12-round boxing match, words can land as hard as punches.
And yesterday, presumptive GOP nominee Donald Trump landed a haymaker.
Trump resurrected rape allegations against former President Bill Clinton, in his latest move to highlight years of Clinton crimes and scandals.
Clinton’s wife, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, is the front-runner for the Democratic nomination and Trump’s likely opponent in the November general election.
In an interview with Fox News Channel host Sean Hannity, Trump was answering questions about an unflattering story published this past weekend by The New York Times involving his relationships with women when he turned his attention to Bill Clinton.
“By the way, you know, it’s not like the worst things, OK,” Trump said. “You look at what Clinton’s gone through with all of the problems and all of the things that he’s done.”
Hannity went on to question whether the newspaper would interview women including Juanita Broaddrick, Paula Jones and Kathleen Willey. All three have accused Bill Clinton of sexual misconduct.
“In one case, it’s about exposure. In another case, it’s about groping and fondling and touching against a woman’s will,” Hannity said.
“And rape,” Trump responded.
“And rape,” Hannity repeated.
Allegations of womanizing, extramarital affairs and abuse have trickled out over the course of Bill Clinton’s political life.
More allegations of misbehavior emerged after investigators in 1997 started looking into Clinton’s sexual encounters with White House intern Monica Lewinsky. Clinton was impeached over the Lewinsky affair.
In 1998, he agreed to an $850,000 settlement with Jones, an Arkansas state worker, who had accused Clinton of exposing himself and making indecent propositions when Clinton was the state’s governor. The settlement included no apology or admission of guilt.
Broaddrick, a nurse, in 1999 claimed she was raped by then-state Attorney General Clinton at a Little Rock hotel in 1978. Kathleen Willey, a White House volunteer, claimed Clinton fondled her when she met privately with him at the White House in 1993 to seek a job.
Clinton denied the allegations by Broaddrick and Willey.
Trump has made clear in recent weeks that he intends to make Bill Clinton’s sexual history a key campaign issue, describing him at rallies and on social media as “the worst abuser of women in the history of politics” and labeling his wife an “enabler.”
Hillary Clinton has refused to respond to Trump’s comments, at one point telling reporters she had “nothing to say” about Trump.

But it would be more pertinent if we could hear more from each of the candidates on national issues that are really important to most people. For example: Do they have any plans or ideas to stimulate the national economy, encourage small business, and put people back to work in the private sector? Do they have any plans that would reduce the tax burden on working Americans?

I’m for Trump. I was for Trump when I first heard a rally of his back in January 2016. I am able to look past the cuss words, the belittling of others, and yelling at other candidates. It’s just ok, because I can see the heart and mind of Donald Drump – what I mean is that I have seen the side of him that is presidential and I trust him to get the job done. What choice do we have, folks? He’s the best one I see right now on the republican side. I don’t think the Democratic side has any solid choices – I’d choose Bernie, only because Hillary can’t get the presidency.
And the saying above “both undesirable candidates need to be exposed) In most elections, I would say that this is true, but in this election year, I guess exposing them would be a good thing. But really though. It’s not going to make any difference. If you are a Trump supporter like me, you will vote for him regardless of his past. If you are a Hillary fan, then you would vote for Hillary. I you like Bernie,vote for him. For those folks out there who don’t know who to vote for, don’t let all the negative past stuff make your decision for you: I’m sure that all of us have done a thing or two.

Re-read the article. No where in the article did Donald Trump call Bill Clinton ad “rapist”. It is true that Bill Clinton was accused of rape. How long does it take for ones comments to appear on this site. I wrote one about an hour ago and still don’t see it. I didn’t use any profanity or hate speech, and as far as personal attacks go….there are plenty here that refer to both Hillary and Bill Clinton as well as Trump. And I notice a few personal attacks toward others who have commented. I thought my comment was honest and forthright…unlike the heading of this article which says Donald Trump called Clinton a “rapist”…which he did not!
They were a world embarrassment. I can’t believe this circus could possibly end up back at the white house. How much more time does the legal system have to go to indict Hillary? In the Republican party, she’s have already been history. She deserves prison time.

IIRC, i saw a Roger Stone interview wherein he states that during the run-up to the election – presuming The Liar hasn’t been indicted and he’s running against The Commie, instead – many commercials will air in which the abused victims get national exposure when telling the stories of how they were abused by the lying “champion of women,” and presumably will encourage Americans to vote for Trump.
I wonder if Clinton’s poor victims have been contacted yet for ads. I also wonder if these victims have already been paid off by the Clinton’s to not appear in the ads. As Hillary said, ” Any woman who was raped, should be believed.”

Possible; iirc, one of the women – Paula Jones, maybe? – settled a lawsuit for 850k – but part of that agreement may have been that she keep quite.

Can anyone tell me why my two previous post/comments are not shown? I wasn’t vulgar, I didn’t use profanity, I made no personal attacks or any hate speech (unlike some of the above comments.
