A picture is worth a thousand words… at least, according to critics of the Trump administration.
A new picture of Vice President JD Vance that has suddenly sparked a frenzy of rumors that he and his longtime wife, Usha, are about to divorce.
The photo of Vance began circulating over the weekend. It appears to show him engaged in a verbal fight with the second lady.
The undated, unverified photo appears to show the VP scowling in a white T-shirt, sitting in a restaurant booth across from his wife, with her head hanging and her hand resting on her face.
Predictably, critics pounced on the photo, seemingly elated with the fact that the couple may have been fighting.
According to The Daily Beast, the viral photo was allegedly circulated Thomas Clay Jr., an influencer who says he “busts Republican’s [sic] dumb a**es on the daily,” who shared it in a Facebook post that garnered thousands of likes and comments.
“Looks like things are not so good in Republicanistan,” he wrote.
“Usha is a liberal. Always has been. Apparently they were having and [sic] argument loud enough to quiet the restaurant. Why is he wearing a tee shirt?”
There’s just one problem.
The photo is apparently completely fake with online AI image detectors determining that it was likely fabricated.
This led Vance to chime in about the photo, in perhaps the most “Vance-like” way possible.

Unfortunately for the Vances, this isn’t the first time their marriage has faced recent scrutiny and rumors.
In October, JD Vance drew criticism from critics after publicly expressing his wish for Usha, who is Hindu, to follow his journey to Christianity.
“Do I hope eventually that she is somehow moved by the same thing that I was moved in by church? Yeah, I honestly do wish that because I believe in the Christian Gospel, and I hope eventually my wife comes to see it the same way,” he said.
According to The New York Post, the second couple also faced scrutiny in October after the VP embraced late Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk’s widow, Erika.
The outlet also reported that in November and December, Usha was photographed without her wedding ring during a pair of events with first lady Melania Trump.
Usha’s spokesperson explained that as a busy mom, the second lady “does a lot of dishes, gives lots of baths, and forgets her ring sometimes.”
JD Vance said he and his wife are unfazed by the gossip and focused on their three children, aged 3, 5, and 8.
“I think that we kind of get a kick out of it,” he told NBC News last week, explaining that Usha forgot her ring in their rush to get to the White House.
“She was like, ‘Oh, if I don’t go back and get them, there’s going to be some ridiculous psycho who talks about it on social media,’” Vance recalled.
“And I was like, let them. It’s not even worth the trip to run back upstairs. So we actually have a little bit of fun with it. And we thought that whole viral social media cycle was kind of funny.”
