“There’s no place like home for the holidays,” the Perry Como classic says.
Did you spend this Christmas with your family, COVID-19 or no COVID-19?
If so, you’re not alone—millions of Americans have decided that sacred family time is more important than the risk of a virus with a 99.8 percent survival rate and multiple vaccines in transit.

Thanksgiving travel was only down five percent in 2020 over last year, according to The Associated Press — despite all the finger-wagging from public health figures, which has picked up again.
USA Today quoted a behavioral scientist—not an infectious disease expert—named Gleb Tsipursky, who told its millions of readers, “You don’t want to have empty seats where grandma (and other relatives) used to be.”
If you’re spending time with loved ones during this virus, don’t worry—you’re not alone. So are the liberal Democrats who banned your family gatherings but wouldn’t dream of letting the rules interfere with theirs.
That includes people like –
California Governor Gavin Newsom
Gov. Gavin Newsom passed the strictest lockdown rules in the entire country—for other people.
At Thanksgiving, Californians were told they could only have 10 people at their house, that they had to keep six feet apart from each other, and they should wear masks “in between bites.”

But it was a different story when one of Newsom’s advisers threw a birthday party. Cameras caught the governor feasting at an elite restaurant called the French Laundry—wearing no mask, crammed next to professional lobbyists for the California Medical Association.
To make matters worse, the next night the mayor of San Francisco—a Democratic woman named Lincoln Breed—threw her own birthday party in the same gourmet restaurant.
San Jose Mayor Sam Liccardo
San Jose’s Democratic Mayor, Sam Liccardo, told his residents to “cancel big gatherings this year.” Then he dined in style at a five-family Thanksgiving dinner—even though state law limited Thanksgiving to a maximum of three families.
Los Angeles County Supervisor Sheila Kuehl
Democrat Sheila Kuehl didn’t just talk a good game on shutting down restaurants—she voted that way. She tried to convince Los Angeles County to ban restaurants from letting people eat dinner outdoors…other people, that is. She pulled up a table outside a Santa Monica restaurant just a couple hours after council voted her idea down.
Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot
Chicago’s Democratic mayor, Lori Lightfoot, made a repeat performance to the COVID-19 Hall of Shame, partying outside in a huge crowd and no mask after Joe Biden had been declared winner of the 2020 presidential election.

That’s the second time she ignored her own rules.
In the spring she was caught going to a hair stylist after she told the little people, “Getting your roots done is not essential.” But she said she was too important not to have a new hairdo. “I’m the public face of this city,” she said.
Denver Mayor Michael Hancock
Denver’s most powerful Democrat, Mayor Michael Hancock, told the Mile-High City who urged residents to “stay home as much as you can,” didn’t even stay in his own state.
He flew to Mississippi for Thanksgiving with his family.
Washington, D.C., Mayor Muriel Bowser
Muriel Bowser, the Democrat in charge of the nation’s capital, not only partied down to celebrate Joe Biden’s election, but she traveled to Delaware, which she decided was “essential travel.”
Austin Mayor Steve Adler
Steve Adler didn’t just leave his state—he left the country. The Democratic mayor of Austin, Texas, shot a Facebook video telling people to “stay home if you can,” or otherwise “we may have to shut things down.”
He didn’t tell them he shot it in the ritzy Mexican resort of Cabo San Lucas, after he keelhauled it out of the Lone Star State following his daughter’s wedding… which had 20 guests, twice as many as his own guidelines allowed.
There’s a pandemic alright—a pandemic of Democratic hypocrisy.
“This is little tyrant crap,” said Jon Caldara, president of the Independence Institute in Denver. “It’s how the communists in the party live one life and the people they rule live a different life.”

“I can’t imagine anything that would be more likely to undermine the ability of an elected official to gain the public trust,” said Jeff Flier, the former dean of Harvard Medical School.
Even Fake News CNN anchor Brianna Keilar said liberal hypocrisy established “a pattern of leaders failing to lead by example, asking Americans to make sacrifices that they, themselves, are unwilling to make.”
But if the leaders who set the rules aren’t following their own rules, maybe they aren’t as “essential” as they say.
If you celebrated with family this Christmas, smile: You have lots of company.
Merry Christmas!
