Top Trump critic switches, “I’m voting for Trump”

She once said about President Donald Trump: “I give up.”

She even went as far as to say to the president, “You must go.”

Now conservative commentator Ann Coulter is saying Trump has won her back — and the reason why is surprising.

Coulter made headlines when she, one of the first major backers of his 2016 presidential campaign, jumped off the Trump train back in November 2019 after they disagreed on Obama’s Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) illegal immigration.

Okay, that does it. I give up. They can stay. You must go. https://t.co/D6G2YPe8QI

Nearly a year later, she’s back on board amid the anticipated release of investigative journalist Bob Woodward’s tell-all book about Trump, entitled “Rage.” Coulter swooned over the candid comments Trump reportedly made about White House generals to economic adviser Peter Navarro.

How did the President win her back?

Simply put, he had some less than flattering things to say about his generals that went viral …

Warning: Graphic language ahead.

According to The Hill, an excerpt from the book read:

Trump said “his generals” were “p******” in a conversation with Navarro “at one point,” The Washington Post reported.  “Not to mention my fucking generals are a bunch of p******. They care more about their alliances than they do about trade deals,” Trump told Navarro, according to Woodward.

It’s no huge secret that Trump and the likes of General H.R. McMaster, former National Security Advisor John Bolton, and General Jim Mattis did not get along. Critics have noted that the President’s unorthodox style rubbed traditional White House leaders the wrong way, as they disagreed on matters of national security and trade policy.

Who knew Coulter felt the same way?

If anything, she’s hopping back aboard at a time when it seems like the presidential race will be as tight as ever. Trump’s campaign message of law and order is striking a chord after the COVID-19 pandemic and civil unrest upended his presidential re-election campaign.

Coulter is here for the comeback.
