“On the Holmes Front” with Frank Holmes
If President Donald Trump isn’t tired of winning, then notch another win in his belt.
In barely more than two weeks, the president has put America first on one issue after another—and smacked down his enemies in the process.
This time, his enemies hanged themselves, tying themselves up in a a financial scandal so deep it could even change the face of the Senate.
A new ethics scandal broke out involving two up-and-coming leaders of the Democratic Party.
The complaint involves two groups you’ve probably never heard of, even though it played a pivotal role in one of the most important elections in a key swing state.
The organizations are the New Georgia Project (NGP), which was set up to register voters for state elections beginning in 2013, and its sister organization, the New Georgia Project Action Fund (NGPAF), a lobbying group.
If you haven’t heard of the nonprofits, you’ve certainly heard of the people who ran them: Stacey Abrams and Senator Raphael Warnock, D-Ga.
Abrams set up the groups while she was still in the state House of Representatives, gearing up for her 2018 race for governor against Republican Brian Kemp—a race she narrowly lost.
Since they are 501(c)3 organizations, the tax code strictly forbids them from engaging in any electioneering or political work in general—but Abrams thought she could get away with murder.
She raised millions of dollars…and used it on her own campaign.
“New Georgia Project and its Action Fund failed to disclose $4,216,783.07 in campaign contributions and $3,200,449 in campaign expenditures during the 2018 election cycle,” reports the Foundation for Accountability and Civic Trust (FACT).
That seven-figure expenditure has already cost her six figures.
Last month, the Georgia State Ethics Commission slapped Abrams’ group with the largest fine in the history of the state of Georgia: $300,000.
“We are glad to finally put this matter behind us so the New Georgia Project can fully devote its time and attention to its efforts to civically engage and register black, brown, and young voters in Georgia,” said one of the group’s lawyers, Aria Branch, at the time.
That was then. This is now.
FACT just its own private complaint about Abrams’ and Warnock’s group with the IRS—a complaint that could trigger additional action at the national level.
What’s worse, the groups have already been caught, fined, and convicted of political wrongdoing…so the federal government will have little doubt about their guilt.
“New Georgia Project and its Action Fund have admitted to political activity—and their actions must have federal consequences,” said Kendra Arnold, executive director of FACT.
“Federal law is very clear, and strict, in that when an organization receives the benefits of nonprofit status, those running it are absolutely prohibited from using it as a political campaign organization,” said Arnold.
When the IRS—now under new management—starts auditing the books, it could make a serious impact on Abrams…and more importantly, on Warnock.
It will likely not make much of an impact on Stacey Abrams, who has already ruined her own star. She insisted she won the 2018 race for years and tried to talk her way onto the 2020 Democratic Party ticket as Joe Biden’s vice president.
Abrams ran the two nonprofits only until 2017, when she quit to run for governor. And she lost—and in a rematch four years later, she lost again.
But Raphael Warnock, who is currently a sitting U.S. senator, ran the groups during the time they made millions of dollars in illegal expenditures.
That could result in censure, impeachment, or defeat in his next election in two years.
That’s very bad news for the preacher-turned-politician, who is said to have his eyes set on higher office.
“This is a straightforward case because the nonprofits admitted to raising and spending millions of dollars for campaigns. Thus we have requested the IRS take action, investigate this matter, and if appropriate revoke the organizations’ tax-exempt status and impose financial penalties,” said Arnold.
Why are these people SO corrupt?

Warnock may soon join her as the once-and-no-longer senator.
That would tilt the balance of the Senate, where Republicans hold a slim majority.
And it would be another victory for Trump, who mass fired every prosecutor involved in his own cases and January 6, who fired nearly all USAID employees, and who locked the Democratic Party’s leaders out of the Department of Education.
Trump is having a great time, and it hasn’t been a month yet. It’s going to be a fun year.
