Voters will have three choices in the upcoming Washington state governor’s primary election — and it has Democratic leadership freaking out.
Vote for Bob Ferguson? Or vote for Bob Ferguson? Or, alternatively, you can vote for…
You guessed it: Bob Ferguson.
Three men named Bob Ferguson, including the current “soft-on-crime” Washington District Attorney, are running to be the Democratic Party governor nominee in The Evergreen State.
And one Bob Ferguson isn’t happy about it, calling it a “direct attack on our democracy” — while asking for donations.
News reports confirm that a right-wing conservative paid the filing fee for two other unknown “Bob Fergusons.” The intent is clear – confuse voters and diminish votes. The stakes could not be higher. This is a direct attack on our democracy and the integrity of the Washington state election system that could lead to the victory of an anti-choice conservative like Dave Reichert. Washingtonians start voting in less than two months. We are going to need significant resources to get the message out about which “Bob Ferguson” to vote for in August. If you’re as outraged by this tactic as I am, please make a donation today to help.

Washington state conservative activist Glen Morgan came forward and said he was the campaign manager behind the other two Bob Fergusons running for office.
“Yes, I am the volunteer campaign manager for two of the Bob Fergusons running for Governor. They are both superior in every way to the AG running for the same office, and I believe they can provide better choices for the Democrats in our state for that office,” Morgan wrote on social media.
Washington state primary elections will be held on August 6th, and the two candidates with the most votes from each party primary race will move forward to a Nov. 5 general election showdown.
Attorney General Ferguson said in a press conference that he knows at least one of the other Bob Fergusons who filed had previously voted Republican.
He said one of the competing Bob Fergusons was from Yakima, and the other Graham.
Ferguson called the additions of the two other Bob Fergusons an “illegal scheme” that violated Washington law that prevents “duplicate, nonexistent, untrue names” from appearing on the ballot.
Cease and desist letters were sent to both the candidates homes, and he encouraged both to withdraw their candidacy by Monday night or face prosecution.
“I do not want them prosecuted,” Ferguson said. “I hope these two people do the right thing.”
