It’s official — Democrats have totally lost touch with reality.
Florida Rep. Val Demings was busted this month telling a Facebook user that only she has the right to free speech, while also implying that questioning her is not allowed.
On May 3, Deming posted an anti-guns right diatribe to her social media page —
Proud to stand with Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords, Americans For Responsible Solutions, The Brady Campaign and my distinguished colleagues in this fight for common sense gun legislation.
We stand AGAINST the gun lobby, and WITH victims of gun violence everywhere.
There’s just one problem — Demings has a history with firearms that doesn’t back up sensible gun ownership. Demings, a former police officer, once lost her handgun to a thief — and it was never recovered.
“On the evening of February 27, 2009, a man broke into former Orlando Police Chief Val Demings’ vehicle and stole her agency-issued 9 mm handgun as well as ammunition and several other items which were stored in a duffle bag,” The Daily Wire reported.
When a Facebook user pointed at Demings wasn’t the best representative of common sense and gun ownership, the Florida Democrat went crazy.
Uh, no.
Perhaps Demings should bother reading a little something called the Declaration of Independence.
“We hold these truths to be self-evident: that all men are created equal; that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights; that among these are life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.”
In case Demings needs a sixth grade social studies lesson, that means that no man or woman can ever take away our rights. Our rights as American citizens, as promised in the Constitution, are guaranteed to us by God.
Of course, this isn’t the first time Demings has been exposed fighting against free speech.
In February, Demings called it “a beautiful site” when mobs of masked thugs viciously beat free speech advocates in Berkeley, California. She also asked about the rioters, “what direction and instructions and how can we have a more organized effort so that they can be a major tool in moving our agenda forward?”
Here’s the simple fact: In the eyes of the law and the U.S. constitution, we were all created equal.
Democrats may not like it, but the Almighty gave everyone the right to free speech — even if it hurts the feelings of liberal snowflakes.
