The obstructionist left just unveiled an ugly new strategy for attacking President Donald Trump’s Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh.
It’s not about his judicial record.
That would be tough to pull off, given that it’s spotless.
It’s not even about his views on hot-button issues, which he will no doubt be harangued over in his upcoming confirmation hearings.
No, these attacks sink to an ugly new low, even for the left-wing “resistance” movement in the mainstream media.
Here’s The Horn News’ list of the…
4 WORST ATTACKS ON BRETT KAVANAUGH
His name: Can you believe it? That sounds like a joke, but it’s not. They’re actually attacking him for his name.
“We’ll be DAMNED if we’re going to let five MEN—including some frat boy named Brett—strip us of our hard-won bodily autonomy and reproductive rights,” the pro-choice group NARAL wrote on Twitter.
Kavanaugh is 53 and not a “boy,” and the attack is clearly an attempt to discredit his long career by associating him with the kind of untoward behavior seen in screwball college comedy movies.
In reality, he went to one of the finest law schools in the nation. But he came under attack for that, too!
His education: The far left is a huge fan of the Ivy League schools… as long as they dutifully pump out liberals. When there’s a left-wing nominee from Harvard or Yale, they hold it up like a badge of honor.
When it’s a conservative? Not so much!
A Washington Post editorial laments that “Every current Supreme Court justice attended Harvard or Yale. That’s a problem, say decision-making experts.”
They’re accusing the court of elitism, which is rich coming from the limousine liberals.
“When team members are all the same, you start getting group think,” said David Rock, a co-founder of the Neuroleadership Institute, told the newspaper.
Like Kavanugh, Clarence Thomas and Samuel Alito both went to Yale. So did Sonia Sotomayor – yet it seems pretty unlikely you’ll ever see the liberal Sotomayor accused of engaging in “group think” with those other names!
His faith: The left just hates religion, and the fact that Kavanaugh is a devout Catholic seems to be driving them batty.
The Washington Post ran an opinion piece claiming he “faces a historical struggle between canon and constitutional law” as if the man can’t manage both his faith and the Constitution.
Lefty website Think Progress wrote an entire piece on how Kavanaugh’s Catholicism will lead to a court that “not only stops time, but can even turn back the clock.”
His race: Yes, the “tolerant” left attacked this man for his race, especially the unfunny late-night comics who have made their entire careers about attacking mocking Trump does.
Jimmy Kimmel called him the “white man for the job,” while Stephen Colbert pulled out a bingo card where every space had “white guy” on it.
At the end of the day, Kavanaugh is not only an accomplished judge with a clean record, but there’s also something else important here.
He didn’t come out of left field. His name was on a list of potential Supreme Court nominees Trump provided before the election to help reassure conservatives that he would pick only proven constitutionalists.
He revised the list last year, adding other candidates with conservative credentials.
Kavanaugh’s name came right from the list, an example of two things rare in politics: Transparency… and a promise kept.
But they’ll probably attack him for that, too!
