Sen. Ted Cruz, R-T.X. appeared on Fox News and made a “mic drop” statement that blew political experts away.
He said that an American politician was to blame for the Iranian missiles used to attack the U.S. bases stationed in Iraq…
Former President Barack Obama.
“In a very real sense,” he said, speaking with Sean Hannity, “the missiles that we saw fired at U.S. servicemen and women tonight were paid for by the billions that the Obama administration flooded the Ayatollah with.”
In other words, Obama directly paid for the missiles that attacked our military’s base.
“To give over a hundred billion dollars to Iran,” he said. “[Obama administration] literally flew $1.7 billion in cash, in unmarked bills, on pallets in the dead of night into Iran.”
Cruz’ is referring to 2016 cash payments made by Obama and company to Iran, all in cash.
$1.7 billion to a country that has shown nothing short of blind hate for Americans for decades, Cruz suggested.
“If history teaches anything, it’s don’t give billions of dollars to people who hate you and want to kill you,” he said.
“Under Barack Obama, the policy was appeasement,” Cruz continued. “If you look at Iran policy, I think you’ve seen a dramatic shift [under President Trump].”
But Cruz added that he’s thankful that President Donald Trump has strengthened America’s tone when it comes to Iranian negotiations.
“Let me say, the last three years, I’ve spent a lot of time with President Trump, urging him to pull out of Obama’s disastrous Iran deal. He did that.”
“He took on his own State Department, his own Defense Department, and made the right decision there. Urging the president to end the oil waivers,” Cruz continued. “You know, we had waivers in place that were allowing Iran to sell a million barrels a day of oil. The president agreed and ended those waivers.”
But no, Cruz wasn’t alone in his allegation against Obama. Even Trump agreed with him when addressing the entire nation, less than 24 hours later.
