Clinton, campaigning in Michigan for his wife Hillary, admitted Tuesday to a crowd of voters that Obamacare “doesn’t make any sense” and that simply “doesn’t work.”

I’m lucky, since I’m a Postal Retiree, my Postal Insurance wasn’t destroyed, and with Medicare, my Postal Insurance covers all the Medicare co-pays, and I never have to pay anything medically. I realize that Obamacare, which was heavily destroyed while being passed by Congress, is no use to anyone, and most companies ended their employee’s health insurance, forcing them to all take Obamacare insurance. There’s a choice between many insurance companies, but it’s very expensive with tremendous deductibles. While it’s true that many folks who weren’t provided insurance were able to sign on, it’s very expensive with huge deductibles. When I was 65 and was rushed to the Hospital, and was cured, my bill would have been around $150,000, but with Medicare and GEHA, which is my Postal insurance, I never had to pay a penny, because I did not have to sign up for Obamacare.

If the truth be known, nobody ever thought that “Obamacare” (the Affordable Care Act or “ACA”) would last very long in its present form – not the Democrats, not Republicans, not insurance companies, not even Obama. To get Republican and insurance company support, the basic idea was negotiated and watered down so that it largely became a program to provide profit to insurers. Even then, no Republican voted for the Act, and the health insurers immediately started making plans to back out as soon as their subsidies ended.
Nevertheless, the ACA delivered on its central promise to provide healthcare to millions of previously uninsured Americans.
According to an analysis done earlier this year by the Urban Institute Health Policy Center, the uninsured rate for adults between the ages of 18 and 64 has fallen by 43.8 percent since September of 2013. That means 15.5 million Americans who didn’t have health insurance before the law went into effect are now covered. It also means that millions of Americans are receiving the health care that should be an unquestioned right in a society as rich and advanced as ours.
To provide that basic right, major changes are going to have to be made to the ACA. I think we are going to see that the current version of Obamacare is only a first step toward a single-payer system administered by the Government. The next step may be something like an option for those as young as 55 to buy in to Medicare, but that will not be the end. The single-payer system seems inevitable and was probably the plan right from the beginning.
I don’t have a problem with insuring everyone, but he took the people who were on medicaid and the people that were already insured and created Nobamamcare. Now the people that were on medicaid are still on medicaid (on steroids) and the people that had insurance either no longer have insurance or they can’t afford insurance through the exchanges…plus now they are primarily “part-time” and have to work multiple jobs. Doesn’t make any sense to me.

The affordable care act in reality is really the unaffordable care act. It’s way over priced. I pay $100.00 a month for United Health Care just for myself, and I also have the VA as well. If I were to remarry, My health insurance triples making it unaffordable. But having both the VA and United Healthcare at
the same time helps out. Should I be where there is no VA clinic and/or VA hospital, United Health Care is there. Health Insurance is way over priced.

As surely a dozen others in here must have pointed out before me, the author of this article completely missed the point. Clinton was arguing FOR, yes, FOR O’Bama’s original intent for O’Bamacare! Clinton is arguing for removal of insurers from the O’Bamacare model and moving to a single-payor government paid system! He is not denigrating O’Bamacare, just saying O’Bama should not have “compromised” on his original intent which was to nationalize completely the medical care system.
